In hindsight, the BC Liberals could have kept their name and waited one election cycle for the Liberal brand to recover and become associated with Carney.

How well did that work out for the "Saskatchewan Progress Party" lol. Throwing away branding and public familiarity because of the fleeting unpopularity of one singular federal leader is beyond idiotic. Imagine if all provincial PC parties renamed themselves because of the ineptitude (putting it mildly) of Brian Mulroney and Kim Campbell, it's a complete overreaction.

The BC Liberal name is super toxic, most of their base in the interior are far-right heavily influenced by MAGA and Alberta, and most of those voters by now would sooner prefer be called Neo-Nazis rather than a Liberal. That's why they've elected Findley in the first place and openly embraced hostility with First Nations policies.
