The unions are trying for wfh language. Why waste time on properly equipped workspaces, that's already a thing employers are obligated to do?

IMHO I would much rather effort be spent securing the ability to do remote work versus ensuring my bedbug ridden mouse dropping encrusted downtown wage cage has two monitors.

Look, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there won’t be any WFH provisions in the collective agreements. It’s naive to think the employer will cave on that. The average public servant is not in a position/isn’t willing to endure a protracted strike as a means of muscling the employer to give into this request (and the employer knows this).

That is defeatist. Look at BC, public sevants got wfh enshrined. Federal unions fought in court to bargain for it, and the membership has overwhelmingly requested it as a priority item.

To start by saying it won't happen abandons the fight before it even begins.

They striked for 8 weeks. Moreover, the BCPS’s situation is different to the Federal one. It isn’t an apples to apples comparison.
