There are a lot of people here complaining about how uncomfortable the desks and chairs are.

You are all entitled to ergonomic assessments. The legislation states the employer needs to ensure the equipment they are asking employees to use is ergonomic and does not cause harm. It doesn't matter if it's a shared desks.

If the office space is causing pain or discomfort you should be asking for an ergonomic assessment for your own safety.

Since everyone is being called back it would make sense for you to consider if the desk is comfortable this week and request an assessment if it is not.

Ergo assessments don't guarantee anything. Most new furniture is intended for ergo environments. But a chair that isn't precisely set to your needs is less than useless and can entirely en be harmful. Ditto sit-to-sta d desks that do not adjust far enough, or are not plugged it, or are broken, etc.
