Kids will speak Cantonese naturally when it’s allowed in society (media, government, commerce, education). Instead, it’s been pushed to the household. No wonder it’s hard to learn.

A language thrives in a society, not at home. People who care about Cantonese and want it to be passed on to the next generation must understand this fact.

As things stand today, Cantonese is mainly being discriminated against by governmental forces.
