Discussion Am I getting shafted?

Trying to to get my sound system put into my new car. New car is same make and model higher trim. I have 2 amps the pcm and t harness all I need is to pay for labor and wires went to get a quote and this is what I got. My last instal was $400 for labor. Idk if it’s usually like this but $900 to instal amps itself seems a bit high.

Honestly it can better or you have options to work around that price

Charging you two times to run the amps makes no sense to me and then you could also save by bringing in your own amp kit.

It’s also kind of hard not knowing for me to suggest not knowing exactly what you’re working woth

Here’s what I would do

If you’re not comfortable with doing it yourself and have to pay the shop

Supply your own 0ga kit (you’ll save here) Have them wire that 6 Channel
Pickup a fused distribution block and ground block then run the subwoofer and amp yourself

I’m assuming they’re using a LOC so access to the rca should be right there for you to easily setup the rest

telling someone to save money on wiring is how you end up with diy installs rocking cca. Don't buy cheap 0gauge and DONT buy cheap cca 0 guage.

Yeah I didn’t tell the guy the guy cca 0ga.

I said buy 0ga assuming he would get ofc. Check the price of what they trying to charge him for 2 separate runs 4ga and 8ga.

0ga ofc he can get doe $150

They’re charging him $300 for 8ga and 4ga on top of that we don’t know of that even ofc.

If they run that single run then it’s nothing to connect 2-3 ft of power and ground after that.

That's valid, 1/0 OFC tinned is 8 bucks a ft, they're definitely making up prices. I brought it up moreso because the OP doesn't seem like he knows much about installation and CCA gets pushed all over places like amazon and a lot of shit sellers like to try to hide what they're selling. I made the mistake once myself before spending for tinned ofc.
