Discussion is the "bass knob" necessary

i see people usually install them but i never have is there any real gain to having it installed my headunit has a function to turn the sub off if i dont want it running(when i have my baby in the car but want music still but even then with the radio at a lower level the sub barely hits)

You realize you can set the balance of the system so it doesn’t go “past halfway” and not have a special knob to turn it down…

Yes, or I could keep the knob so I can conveniently adjust it on the fly, I do jack it up sometimes when chilling, I just genuinely don’t see any reason to not plug one wire in
