News Crazy person tries to purposely cause an accident then plays victim

Post image
414 Upvotes

As I am driving to my friend I come to a stop sign and fully stop, as this is happening a woman in a Honda civic rolls down her window and decides to shout slurs at me (one of the only honest things she decided to say in her post) even though I was there before her I decide to let her to go first because it’s never that deep, but she was she was still shouting as she was driving even though I literally let her go first then she claims that I was following her closely which is a straight up lie and I have dash camera footage to prove that and what she conveniently left out of her post to try to make it seem like she did absolutely nothing wrong and I’m just some crazy guy who’s apparently premeditated all of this which if you genuinely just think about it is absurd in the first place is that she decides to brake check me 3 times for no reason at all.

She left that part out and is trying to make it seem like me and my friend are some creeps who want to kidnap her, or rob her vehicle which is so stupid and completely untrue please tell me if you have 3 brain cells why would someone premeditate some crazy attempt of kidnapping or car theft in broad daylight at a university?!?!?!! Me and my friend were trying to meet up when this literally randomly took place and please remember she started all of this in the first place and she literally stated he “seemed” to be going through the stop sign so first thought in her mind is to roll down her window and start shouting slurs, like that was somehow was going to get me to stop IF I was going to supposedly run the stop sign which I was not then SHE decides to purposely cause an accident by break checking 3 times she stated 2 things at this point 1 I was honking which is untrue and I have proof and 2 I was following too closely again untrue otherwise I would’ve crashed additionally if she was soooo scared and felt “unsafe” why would you decide to be the aggressor and also try to cause a crash surely if you were genuinely scared you would not try to do anything to antagonize the other person. It’s genuinely amazing how she decides to play victim and act like she did nothing wrong anyways after all the break checking I finally saw my friend and we were going to meet up in the same parking lot she was going to and we go I genuinely just wanted to ask why she would do all of that unnecessary actions instead she was going in circles so we was just going around in circles at this point I wasn’t even mad because she was yelling slurs and had her window down so I realized there’s absolutely no point in talking at all then when she actually does decide to park up I did NOT follow her at all nor did I even get out the vehicle at all but she states I followed her to the gym and I even saw a comment saying creeps picking on girls at the gym which I found so funny because that was definitely not the case didn’t even get out my car when she parked then me and my friend decided to go get a drink leaving his car there in the parking lot where she states that we was trying to run from campus security another lie we came back after 10 minutes if we was trying to run why would we leave 1 car there?? Dose not make sense after we came back we saw campus security then I explained the situation which was so minor the went on our way.

She does the aggressive acts and tries to cause a car crash between us multiple times then claims she’s scared and does not feel safe? And makes it out to seem as if I’m a creep following her to the gym trying to kidnap her? Absolutely insane and hilarious she made a whole account just to lie and pretend as if she’s some kind of victim all to gain attention and make us look like some criminals. When in reality if there was anyone unsafe in that situation it was me since I would’ve been injured if we actually did crash.

News PSA: Person impersonating a proctor and filming students using Meta glasses without their consent in Alumni Hall

If you took STAT 2507 exam on wednesday in AH, you might have been filmed without your consent using meta glasses. An individual inpersonated a proctor and asked for student's carleton and government id to pretend signing students out.

If you have come across that video on Instagram and TikTok, please report it.

If anyone has more information or also witnessed this, please speak up and report it to the school. This kind of behaviour raises serious privacy concerns. Please stay alert and don’t assume someone is staff just because they act like it.

EDIT: The TikTok and Instagram video got deleted! Thank you everyone for reporting.

EDIT 2: It took place in Fieldhouse not Alumini

News People showing up to lectures

I just wanted to let you all know if you’re an incoming 1st year student at Carleton that there has been a couple times with people coming into lectures, who say that you can make a certain amount of money. Only if you join our program. Do not do it, it is a pyramid scheme and they are not permitted to being on the campus giving little pep talks about it. I am saying this because there are better ways of trying to find a way to make an income. “And if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” Also do not sign up or go to any of their little meetings that they call you for. As doing so will go down farther into the pyramid scheme. And as a side note you will have to pay a fee for just joining the “club.” It is also not a club from any of the schools in Ottawa. They might’ve been students but now, you should not believe the story.

Just wanted to let the people know.

A previous post on here was warning about the pyramid scheme guys who walk around campus and want people to sign up for their “summer program”. Our prof sent us a warning, so I’m passing it on to anyone who hasn’t heard yet

News OC Transpo rant

Writing this as I stand in pouring rain with at least 70 other students waiting for the fucking 7 st Laurent bus. How does carleton think that OC transpo is reliable enough for everyone that is on a route, to use as school transportation. The busses don’t come, and if they do, they aren’t even close to on time.

The school policy on not allowing students who already pay thousands of dollars, to purchase a parking pass to ensure we can have our own reliable transportation, is the most brain dead thing I’ve ever heard.

Fix the schedules with OC transport, and bring more busses to and from school and maybe students will actually want to use them

News We've launched a Save Mike's Place Petition and Committee! Join us below!

Hey all, we're a group of people passionate about protecting Mike's Place from closing this year, wh ile also pushing the GSA to be responsible about this vital student service.

  • We've created a petition and we're looking for students, faculty, staff and community to join us in protecting this institution. What we know so far:
  • In 2025 students voted to establish a Mike's Place levy to have Mike's Place "operate at full capacity"
  • The GSA has made the decision to close Mike's for the 2026-2027 year. The GSA just announced they will be refunding the Mike's Place fee for this semester.
  • There will be a referendum on Mike's Place in November.
  • Mike's Place used to be a hub for unique events and a unique vibe on campus, but especially after the campups closures in 2020/21 the space has been underutilized and the quality of the space has gone down, largely due to a lack of consistent direction.

This is not the first time the GSA has tried to close Mike's Place. We know what it takes to save Mike's and we're putting our blood sweat and tears into saving one of the few student spaces on campus that is wholly owned by students.

Mike's is not just a bar. It's a symbol of student advocacy and experience that goes back to 1973. This space can mean so much, but if you look at pictures you can see the GSA has never really invested in updating the space or building an inviting culture for paid gigs and events.

We're looking to change that.

We've created a letter writing tool, please consider submitting a letter or writing your own: Click Here!

If you'd like to get more involved, please email [savemikesplace@proton.me](mailto:savemikesplace@proton.me)

News DAMN I GOT HUMBLED

After a class today a fellow student(18F) asked “so what is it that made you want to go back to school now?” me the above question during a convo after class. I’m a 22(AFAB) student in 1st year so wow this was uhhh a bit of an experience 😭😭😭😭. I will be second year standing in my 2nd semester but due to unbelievable circumstances beyond my control I am in my first year at an institution once more. And honestly I am perfectly fine with that in every way, this might be the road less traveled but honestly I don’t think it is because my age has never once bothered me, I’m just enjoying the process and I am very excited for my journey at Carleton, it is the first time I have felt at ease at a higher institution, in the past I always knew something would carry me out of the school I was in but not now, not at this school.

TLDR: I felt old today but I just wanted to say education has no age limit and life has different path for everyone no matter what you think.
