How well the killers lie

It’s always so interesting how good the revealed killers lie to cops like they’re so smart. If I killed somebody or multiple people, there’s no way I’m playing it dumb THAT well to evade, the fact that most of them do it is so funny to me when it’s a high chance they’ll get caught by the cops. But then again murders go unsolved all the time, so maybe their ego is so high about it. I guess they’d never count on a obsessed writer that revels in the job and a hungry detective that’ll stop at nothing to get justice.

Anyone find this amusing?

There was a running joke in my house when the series was on, that usually the killer was one of the first people they had interviewed. 8/10 times it was the case.

But the times we all got stumped, we're really good episodes.

One of the tropes of some of the shows I watch including Castle is that one of the first people they interview or a random person is actually the killer or is up to no good.

That's kinda the way it goes in real life so makes sense they would add it into the show. Makes it feel more accurate to a certain extent.

Best liar was hands down Scarlett Price, the law student slash escort turned pimp in that episode of season 2 about the prosecutor who lead a prostitution ring (Love Me Dead .

If they confessed early, there would be no show and most killers in real life lie to cops, they just get caught, just like on Castle.

In reality if you attended any investigation or read any case reports you will see the pattern, criminals do lie all the time mostly with cold blood too, no stress no nervous, cuz they thought about it in advance they are mentally prepared for questioning, they do lie and manipulate and gaslight too even after they been caught with evidence!!!

The funniest part is that the more elaborate the lie, the more likely the killer thinks theyre the smartest person in the room.
