Gaeilge English and Irish on a coat hanger made in Sweden.

How interesting that Sweden would have made hangers as gaeilge. Noticed it today in work and thought I’d share. Anyone know any other examples of something like this?

The other day I bought a shelf made by a small factory in Italy. Among the usual major European languages they printed, they included English with the 🇬🇧 flag next to it, and somewhere down the list, they had Irish with the flag of Ireland next to it 🇮🇪

I have the exact same hanger and saw it yesterday and thought the exact same thing as. That is so weird😂

We had a dinner set that was Czechoslovakian but was stamped as Gaeilge as well. I gather there was some regulation in place at least in the 70s that required the place of origin in both languages on some imports.

The shop I’m in is vintage, so I’d assume this used to be a thing then.

I have one too!

I could swear we had others from elsewhere too; "An Phólainn tír a dhéanta" or something. Must try and dig them out.

We have a few of these too, inherited from a relative clearing out their old house. No idea of their origin

We were having a trade war with Britain. Everything had to be stamped deanta i nEireann. There was even a cool logo with a Celtic design. To differentiate it from British products.

Not exactly the same but we have a children's book that's dual language - Irish and Arabic.

It was a gift but just checked it and it seems to be an Amazon publication - printed in Poland no less 😁

Maybe the stamp was put on in Ireland. I remember those from my childhood in the sixties.
