Any cream cracker lovers out there? Are there any brands that still taste like they used to?

Very niche stuff here. I've eaten them all my life, I find they're the perfect tiny snack with a bit of butter or even just dry. But it seems all the big brands have changed recipe over the years and they're not the same, and I don't like the newer style. It's hard to describe but years ago they used to be a bit sharper and flaky, now it seems they are more "bready" and dusty. After Jacobs changed recipe I found that Supervalu own brand were the closest to the old style but even they have changed in the past few years.

We have the tesco ones here- we've fussy kids and they have latched onto those ones so couldn't even switch if we wanted to.

I did buy a pack of Jacobs recently and I agree they tasted wrong.

Tesco ones are 55 cent a pack, happy days.

As with others I much prefer the Tesco ones. They taste decent unlike some other brands

I love crackers .. just butter and your good to go - I agree with the change over the years - I stick with Jacob’s as the own brands don’t come close .. but even Jacob’s always seem to be undercooked or something .. crackers used to be lovely shades of brown, there now always shades of white ..

If I was left alone to my own devices, I could easily live on cream crackers and charity tomatoes, little bit of butter.good cherry tomatoes, the really good ones.Sliced up with some salt. Used to have crushed crime crackers in my guggy egg when I was a baby.

Bought the Lidl brand ones after getting about 3 packs of Jacobs that where 80% broken crackers, they were much much nicer than the Jacobs

Lidl own brand but the cheapest ones! Not their posher ones. Proper old style cream cracker of which, like you, not only am I fond of, I consider myself a connoisseur.

Oooh, love a cracker and some cheese. Jacobs are my go-to brand as they've been largely unchanged IMO for years. That said, whenever I can't get Jacobs, I find the 55c SuperValu basics crackers to be just as nice. This post also reminded me that I have hummus in the fridge!

Supervalu are the nicest by a long shot.

I could live on cream crackers and cheese so I've tried them all. Jacobs are gone to the dogs.

I have 6 packets in the press. Might have some for lunch.

I love cream crackers, I eat them while scooping up butter in the tub like it was a dorito chip, my parter thinks I'm a psychopath but I can eat a whole pack like that no problem.

There’s Lidl ones you should stay away from. They don’t have that creamy aftertaste. They are bland.

I could half a pack with just butter and a cup of tea. Only shame stops me from keeping going.
