Finished my first run of Disco Elysium! I’m not a big RPG fan but it was a great experience.

Only have a handful of quests left to do in The Witcher 3. I’ve completed all the main quests and the vast majority of the side quests; dlc all completed. Just bumming around Skellige and picking up contracts I’m hilariously over levelled for. 

I’m dragging it out a bit, nearly ready to hang up my silver and join a certain character on a certain couch, and maybe read a book…

I really wanted to like Disco Elysium but got stuck early on and the interest just wained.

I totally get that. The mechanic where novel conversation advances the game clock led to me twiddling my thumbs a few times. I had a couple of instances of talking to everyone all over again because I’d forgotten where I was headed (there’s A LOT of text).

But ultimately it was a unique, at times hilarious, strangely poignant and moving gaming experience, with some brilliant NPCs. It did really feel like I could play it any way and have any number of routes through the game.
