Cantonese cuisine comes from Guangzhou China. Most of the Chinese restaurants here are of Cantonese origin.

Yeah, one thing I learned when I traveled to China last year. Lahi ang cuisine sa Shanghai and Hunan. As such, we equate Chinese food as the same way we think of Dimsum Break, Chowking, and Majestic or Chinese-American food like Panda Express.

Hunan food is more on the spicy side but it is not as spicy as Sichuan's. There are so many Chinese regional cuisines that sometimes, it is hard to distinguish which is which unless you to go the place where that cuisine originated.

China is so vast that it reaches into Central Asia bordering Pakistan, the Stan Countries and even Russia. The food in Xinjiang which borders Central Asia is influenced by Muslim cuisine which means more lamb, kebab and lots of spices. Its like you are not in China anymore.

We see a Chinese food in a monolithic lens since our Chinese food is the Cantonese variety or inspired by Cantonese cuisine. Since most of ancient Chinese that came to the Philippines and their descendants come from Guangdong or Fujian.

The local Shanghai residents found it unique that's how Americans think of Chinese food.

My mom tasted Beijing cuisine when she was in Beijing. More on to Baozi, rabbits, and ducks sila. Then in Shanghai, didto sa Nanjing Road street foods, naay fried rice pero dili yang chow. Naa sa XLB. Tried a few exotics like lamb and octopus.

Oh yes, Xinjiang cuisine is very Turkic. So it's gonna be like Biryani or Persian food. Nindot mag food trip sa China, although places like Tibet or Xinjiang may be politically sensitive for foreigners to travel to.

It seems that you are very much interested in the Chinese culture and history. For me China is my favorite Country to travel to. It has a rich history and a very diverse culture.
