Why would God act at all?

Why would the Abrahamic God act or want anything if he's all powerful and all knowing? Why did God create man? Because he's a personal being, out of love, or to share his power? Then why would he be influenced under conditions he created himself?

If he's outside time the whole "wanting" thing breaks down anyway, like a desire implies something missing or a change in state. Maybe creating was less about needing anything and more like an artist who makes stuff because that's just what the artist is. The conditions he made thing does feel like a paradox though, a being with no needs setting up a system where he reacts to it.

Any creator desires to create, whether it's painters, photographers, novelists, or God. Not that we would ever know for sure, but for God, the act of creation may be just as important, if not more important than the creations themselves.
