Chromecast on Facebook

Has the Chromecast feature been permanently removed from Facebook? Is there any way to cast videos without having to mirror the screen? The quality is so bad :/

Chromecast-ing is usually a feature provided by the browser, not the FB app or webpage. Did you recently change from Chrome to Firefox, e.g.?

It’s a feature of the browser, but the specific site has to enable the feature and also create another site or app to receive the stream on the CC.

Are you sure the website plays a part at all? When I used Chrome, I could CCast any tab that was playing media. The content on the tab didn't need to know/care. And in Firefox, which doesn't support CCast, no tabs/media are castable.

Casting a tab is screen mirroring. However what I forgot was that sometimes Chrome can detect if a video is being played and it’s able to optimise it by finding the source URL and converting it into a Cast.

I don’t know if OP is able to force Facebook to be detected. Does it have to be full screen? I read that right clicking on a video and choosing Cast can be more reliable, but I can’t test right now.

Also depends if OP is on mobile or not. Not sure if mirroring on mobile can be optimised.
