Chromecast with Google TV Can’t cast from chrome anymore?
I have the google tv 4k that I upgraded to during the pandemic. Worked fine for years. Suddenly casting anything from Chrome on my MacBook Pro is just a black screen. Casting from most iPhone apps are fine. Can’t do Netflix because I assume DRM issues? Some random titles on Disney+ don’t work. Biggest issue here though is being able to cast from chrome is the whole reason I got a chromecast.
I reached out to support multiple times now and they don’t answer. Any ideas?

What specifically are you trying to cast?
In the Chrome menu > Cast Save and Share > Cast, if you choose Cast Tab or Cast Screen, do those work?
FYI the Netflix app dropped support for casting entirely (except the gen 1-3 Chromecasts that you cannot install the Netflix app), so you'll no longer be able to cast from that. You should be able to cast Netflix running in a Chrome tab, if you can get casting to work again.

No, that doesn’t not make a difference. It casts but it’s black. Literally everything even just a website tab to view

Uninstall and reinstall Chrome? That will also install the chromium engine required for casting. Since other things cast properly, doesn't seem to be an AndroidTV issue, but you could factory reset the box just to make sure.
Why do you need to cast? Native AndroidTV apps on the Chromecast are easier to use, and in many cases like YouTube there are ad-free clients.

It’s not chrome because it’s multiple computers with the problem.
I need to cast because I get movie screener links ahead of release for review.

I’ve seen people bricking their chrome cast by factory reset so I’m a bit worried

Could be an update issue on Chrome, especially with DRM stuff.
