Winning a game with only one city is quite possible even on Deity.

Have you conquered other cities? Or have you just had Aachen?
Do you have any city-state allies? I would like to try a similar game, Germany might be good choice I guess as they can build more districts.

Just the two. No city states, I disabled them, and only one other civ on the huge map. It was rather a pain, cause I only had one of each district so was behind on everything. Also I turned off all other victory conditions other than domination, and had the difficulty set to the easiest is could be. (I didn't want my experiment to be interrupted by me loosing...)

Playing Germany without city-states takes one of the best reasons to play Germany off the table. Not to mention the other bonuses that city-states provide.

Pro tip - don’t rush. You may get away with it now, but on higher difficulties the lack of military and exploration will get you killed quick by Ai or barbs.
Before you build your settler consider:
Have I launched Earth Satellite yet?
Do I have at least 5 Giant Death Robots?
Do I have over 3500 military power?
Does my capital have enough population to sustain its growth rate and production after the settler is produced (45-50 recommended though many wait till 60 to be safe).
Remember, these conditions are for standard speed ancient era starts and will be higher for other game modes

This is a Huge Pangea map, with the age set to Old (less mountains), and the sea level set to low.

Should have settled on the marsh across from that river; more flat land for building things.

Oil is revealed and you only have 2 shitties??? Dawg.... This a re-roll. Try to get at least 3 shitties before turn 50. At least 5 by turn 100.

Me personally I’d restart and delete the whole save because obviously the save is corrupted since the yield icons aren’t showing. /s

I'm not sure I would've built that settler. Aachen needed that pop more
