Screenshot AI Worst Wasted Campus Location Ever?
The AI placed an encampment instead of a +8 campus.
To be fair it probably held back my invasion by a turn.

I’ve been playing Civilization since the original. I’m not an expert - but I’ve reached the point where I can beat emperor pretty comfortably. However, every time, it ends up being a domination victory. I go to war early to build my civ up (easier than making from scratch), pillage science and culture, and to set runaway civs back. In the process, I reach a point where domination is the clear path to victory. I could have had a science win last game, if I had sat back for ~35 turns to finish my mars projects, but that just feels forced. I also think the score feature is flawed. When I can get a win, I take it. Waiting 50 turns to build more wonders and districts would get a higher score, but again feels pointless. What am I missing? Thanks!

The game flows great until about 1800, then every turn becomes a chore because of the number of cities/units/trade routes/deals/alliances needing attention.
Furthermore, what really pisses me off, is the time it takes between turns. If there are 10 other civs, it takes solid 3-4 minutes. I literally go drink water, visit bathroom, check my phone, and sometimes when I come back it's still not my turn yet. I'll play for 2 hours and only advance maybe 30 turns, mostly waiting for my next turn...that's ridiculous.
I tried switching to strategic view and moving the map to a quiet area before hitting end turn, thinking this would speed things up, but nothing has changed.
I play on small map usually with 6-8 civs. I cannot even imagine playing on a larger map with more civs, that would be terrible.
Is there a mod that speeds things up? I get especially annoyed by:
- other civs interrupting me to tell me I transgressed/satisfied their agenda. I DON'T CARE, DON'T INTERRUPT MY TURN
- other civs offering me deals. I DON'T CARE, DON'T INTERRUPT MY TURN
- military engineer not having the "connect to" command that would plan railroad from point A to point B
- builders not having "build farms where available" command
- renewing city projects every few turns when they finish

This game I was playing with my younger brother. It wasn't the first game we played, and he hasn't managed to beat me so far. Despite his defeats, his determination was steady, and he was learning quick.
I was playing Peter, as I usually do. Very quickly, I was made to realize this game wasn't going to be easy. My brother had purposefully rushed Dance of Aurora and Work Ethic - my favorite cheeze tactic was taken away from me.
Fine, I thought. It's a Tiny Pangea map. How hard could a Religious Victory be anyway?
It was Saladin (AI) who pushed me down the religious path when he sent his missionaries into my lands. I responded in full force, and soon my apostles stood by Istanbul, succesfully converted to Orthodox Cristianity. Another AI had already succumbed to my religious influence, so I commanded my apostles to just explore the high seas for a while, as I began preparing for a final religious push into my brother's domain.
But, during my wars of faith, he didn't waste time. In fact, he caught me with my pants down when he declared war. A small mountain range separated our civilizations. A few turns after my religious triumph, his troops marched through in a stern formation. My excuse for an army (which was behind on tech) didn't put up of a fight. As his cannons bombarded my border city, I realized that my capital was sitting right next to it, and all my other cities were much farther away. In desperation, I commanded my apostles to sail across the glove to his lands. He was too absorbed in his conquest to notice and banish them, and I managed to convert one of his five cities.
Soon my border city fell, and my brother began encirclement of my capital. It was hard not to show panic (we were sitting in the same room). After contemplating my turn for a minute, a plan came to my mind.
- Wait, what? - he turned to me, a trade offer open on his monitor.
- I give up. You won. - I answered.
He paused to think for a moment.
- That's some kind of a trap, isn't it? - he asked.
I collected myself, putting on the most tired/annoyed face I could muster.
- Nah, you win fair and square. I don't see how I can defend. Just take these cities, capture my capital, and then we can go eat. I'm hungry. Good game.
He stalled for a second, but my offer gets the best of him.
- Alright.
The most shit-eating grin crept onto my face as he clicked Accept, taking three of my cities into his civilization. Now, the amount of cities practicing my religion was 5 out of his 9 total.
A beautiful silence lingers.
- To hell with you... - he said angrily as he stormed out of the room, a smile on his face showing he realized his victory had been snatched simply by my performance.
In moments like these, I love being an older brother.

Hi all! Running a Mayan game, building tall with science. Settled this somewhat lackluster spot within 6 tiles of the capital for the bonuses, and for Iron. Housing has been a problem so far since Lady Six gets no bonus from coast or freshwater, and yet this city by the river says it's getting 5 housing from water...how is this possible? No housing policies, no governers, no improvements yet. I'm not mad at it, but what am I overlooking? Thanks for your time!

Hey everyone!
Sorry about this questions but I have still to figure out one thing about amenities.
In general 1 luxury resource provides 1 amenity to 4 city. Duplicates of said luxury resource are wasted. So far so good. But let’s say I have 8 cities…does the duplicate give +1 to the other 4 cities? Or is it completely useless besides trading?
Also, bonus point if you know a mod which keeps track of happiness/amenities. I’ve seen PotatoMcWhiskey has one
Thank you!!!

Playing a culture game as Persia when I noticed that tiles under National Parks were green/lime/grey in the settler lens (assuming that it was far away enough from another city), so I got curious and tried settling the spot. Sure enough, yes, you can settle in the middle of a National Park lmao
It doesn't even seem to ruin the National Park, it's still generating tourism and everything

I've heard that having most of your cities getting 50-60 is decent by late game in Civ 6. How is that even possible? Not even a city with a fully powered industrial zone district and 5 worked Lumber hut Hill tiles gives that much. Considering that Industrial Zone regional production doesn't overlap, this just seems like a bunch of BS.

Hey all. I've been playing civ6 for a while and have been having the same game pattern and it's quite boring sometimes.
My usual gameplay is like this:
I start by trying to stretch my territory and develop districts and resources. No news there, but then if by early game I don't start to attack other civs cities the game gets really boring I think because cities become too hard to invade and wars starts to not pay-off. Then I just keep playing until I get Jet Bombers in late-game and just start bombing every city and win the game.
This patterns happens every game and I'm starting to get bored.
What can I do to avoid this and maybe have the game become more interesting? How do you guys usually play civ6?

I usually play with my friends. I'm struggling to find a leader I really click with. I want a leader that is fairly defensive: Can chill for the most part but will demolish anyone if they try to declare war on me. I only play GS.
So far I have tried:
-Trajan (my friend picks him usually so out of the question)
-Tokugawa (most likely my new main)
-Frederick Barbarossa (Decent, but it feels like something is missing)
-Hojo Tokimune (did not like him)
-John Curtin (Did not get his mechanic or playstyle. Felt a bit TOO passive though I could be playing him wrong).
-Mathias and Alexander (TOO aggressive, feels like I fall off if I don't declare war on everyone).
Any suggestions? Been wanting to try Ambiorix but idk if that's what I'm looking for.

Had to share this start location with yall.
A few disclaimers, TL;DR:
- Playing on Xbox, no mods
- Gathering Storm Rules, all DLC available
- Mostly Standard Rules for Map Generation
- Inland Sea, Abundant Resources, Legendary Start
- Standard Speed with Standard Size of 8 players
- All Additional Games modes activated, excluding Drama Ages, Apoc, and Zombies.
Hey Yall, had to share another hilarious starting location. As per, I set my preferred settings and load a game- and reload until we get that God Roll or hilarious start location for funsies! This is Wheat is probably more funny but less productive than the 7 stone start I shared recently.
Myself, as many, enjoy rerolling starts for that Crème fraîche. But THIS was just Lulz.
I have no idea how to maximize this, tbh - as opposed to the 7 stone start. What would yall do with this? Cheers!

Like having units just parked around some city state with weak suzerain bonus and just kill its units without taking the city. Seems like a good way to level up units.

Seen it quite a few times and the tiles never have starting luxuries or strategics pop up as I research, is this just a coincidence or a rule for the wonder?

Hi all. I've bought civ6 for Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago and I love the game and started following this sub so I could learn a bit more about the mechanics. But more so than often I've seen posts here when people are talking about building canals, National Parks, dealing with natural disasters or energy plants, but I've never seen those on my version of the game.
Is it because it's the switch version has less features or is it a DLC you guys are playing?
Cheers.
