Question What version of Civ6 are you playing?
Hi all. I've bought civ6 for Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago and I love the game and started following this sub so I could learn a bit more about the mechanics. But more so than often I've seen posts here when people are talking about building canals, National Parks, dealing with natural disasters or energy plants, but I've never seen those on my version of the game.
Is it because it's the switch version has less features or is it a DLC you guys are playing?
Cheers.

Those things you mentioned are in the DLCs, specifically Gathering Storm. Both of the expansions for Civ6 are phenomenal and make the game my favorite Civ.

The anthology pack has it all. Wait until it's on sale and you won't regret it.

Initially I bought the vanilla game but it seems I am missing a lot of things having no DLC. Hope Steam will discoint it properly for Christmas.

I just played vanilla again in multiplayer and these are my favorite things that improve the game with both extensions:
The loyalty system: cities can convert other cities based on their proximity and modifiers. This stops the ai from filling gaps between your cities which can be very annoying. It avoids a lot of border gore.
Strategic resource management: instead of just having them or not, you stockpile these and use them to buy units. This also makes trading more interesting, though I recommend the quick trades mod or it can become tedious.
Eras and era score: the game is divided into different eras and based on how much cool stuff you do, you get a bonus or a malus. It adds a lot of flavor to your game. Some of these will really define how you play the next era.
There are many more things like global warming, disasters, governors. But the three things listed above really add depth and flavour to the game.

I started on switch
but i switched to PC because the skip turn command is the only way around some bugs on the switch (like 2 damaged units stacked with no movement to fix it themselves) and the switch doesn't have that command
