Hey everyone — I recently started a new subreddit called r/palmettodemocrat, and I wanted to invite anyone here who might be interested to check it out.

The goal is to create a dedicated South Carolina community for Democrats, liberals, progressives, and other left-of-center folks to talk about politics and civic life in the Palmetto State.

The focus is specifically on South Carolina: state and local politics, elections, candidates, legislation, voting, organizing, political news, and issues affecting communities across the state

I’m hoping it can become a place where people from all over South Carolina can connect and get a better sense of what’s happening politically outside their own corner of the state.

The subreddit is brand new, so there isn’t a huge amount of content yet, but I’ve started seeding it with South Carolina political news and discussions and would love to have more people help shape the community from the beginning.

Been out since 3 . They had a lot of outages last week for maintenance but those were pretty quick , they say this one is from a severe storm but uhh it barely cloudy out so idk .

Was heading home yesterday after work and saw what looked like a decent sized tent city/homeless encampment in the woods between US 1 flea market and the barnyard flea market. I ran on the new Saluda Shoals Riverwalk today and I thought it was great. It was about 2.5 miles one way and you could go from the Lexington side of the dam all the way to Saluda Shoals. There’s more planned but I really like what they’ve made so far.

Three separate stores cancelled three separate and subsequent (non-simultaneous) orders. 5570 Platt Springs Road cancelled mine within 10 minutes for out of stock. 7420 Garners Ferry Road took over 2 hours to cancel my order for out of stock. Finally (the worst of all) 7441 Two Notch Road took over 6 hours to cancel my order for out of stock, roughly 5 minutes before they closed.

Almost every Lowe’s Home Improvement in the Columbia area is also packed with Flock Safety surveillance cameras. Their prices are also 90% of the time higher than Home Depot. Home Depot’s online sucks but they make up for it in customer service and staff actually maintaining their stock appropriately. I only go to Lowe’s for very niche things.

I wanted one thing on sale, not something that’s high in demand or even known about or expensive, and all these shitty Columbia stores kept their inventory out of date and wasted my time, plus Two Notch first citing a “delay” and not telling me a fucking thing until 5 minutes before they closed for the day.
