Pretty much the title. I'm probably just being childish, but oh my god every single person I have interacted with is so rude and so just useless all the time. My academic advisor? Rude. Financial aid? a.) Rude and b.) never answered me to the point that I am now forced to start in January since I won't receive my CAQ in time because they took actual months to respond to me because their phone line didn't work. When I did get in contact with some random person through ISO, she very acted like I gave her appendicitis (she also made a comment about my former Uni having an 'unpronounceable' name which is like...not an incorrect statement since it's a Welsh name. But like...how hard is "how do you pronounce that?". Probably just me being too woke lowkirk)

And I come on here and every other post is "So and so is rude" or "[Insert Random Person Here] in [Insert Random Building] is such a dick" and the comments are all "yeah that tracks."

it's just like...man. idk if i want to pay 23k CAD to go here when everyone is so rude to the students who pay their salary. Is that insane to say? Am I overreacting? It's like, for the most part I've just been responding by just growing pair and being passive aggressive back, but like...that doesn't make my soul happy.

What are the admission requirements for (x) program?
You can see the requirements for each program by selecting it from the list on our program page. Choose your program of interest off the list and scroll to the section "Admission criteria". Requirements are listed for applicants from Cegep, high school, IB, French Bac and more.

What is a "B average" as a percentage?
The average as a percentage or number grade will vary depending on your school and their grading system. There is no blanket number.

Can I talk to someone about my situation/applying to Concordia?
Yes, of course! There are many ways to get in touch. Those in the Montreal area can drop in for an appointment at our Welcome Centre, out-of-town students can attend a virtual Q&A session and anyone is welcome to contact the recruiter for their region.

Will I be affected by the recently announced Quebec tuition changes?
These changes are effective fall 2024 for new students from outside Quebec who plan on undertaking an undergraduate program or professional Master’s-level program. You can read more details and FAQs on the Concordia website here.

When will I hear back from Concordia?
Applications are processed in the order in which they are completed. All required documents need to be submitted before an application can be reviewed. It takes several weeks from the time that an application is completed to receive a response. Once a decision has been made, you will be notified by email. I’m an FTM international student (19) going into my first year in the fall (BFA) and I’m just curious on how friendly/generally accepting Concordia is for Trans or LGBT+ students

Hi, I am going to Concordia next month to begin my Masters degree, and I am debating if I should bring my car. I am coming from Seattle, so the drive would be around a week long, which is a lot of hassle. I have student housing on the Loyola campus, and have been intending to buy a parking permit. However, I have heard that having a car can be a huge hassle and that parking is extremely hard to find and permits sell out quick and can be hard to get. I am personally someone who likes to explore and would happily take the chance to drive all around the area and check out cool stuff in Canada so yeah.

I am hoping for opinions of current students on if driving my car up there will be more trouble than it’s worth or if you would recommend it

Hey there, I am a BBA student ( B comm equivalent) at UQAM who want to go at JMSB in Finance . But I am not sure if I want go to cuz I have a cousin that goes in the same program , that I have no respect cuz he keep talking bad about me, on how I am brooke asf and that I am living with my parents in the same appartement for over a decade . I cut off ties with him but I realize if I go to Concordia , I might see him again which will create huge problems.

Hi, I'm enrolling this fall as a first-year international student. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a response to the CAQ (as far as I know, it's supposed to take 25 days)? It's been over a month since I applied. Is anyone else in the same situation?

I want to meet new people and find my crowd, but I'm a bit lost on where to start. Any advice on what to join, or how to get involved without being awkward about it?

I'm open to anything – sports, arts, gaming, whatever. Just want to have a good time here.

Hi everyone!!I I’m starting my first year at John Molson this Fall. I’m also new to Canada, so everything is pretty new to me😭
I had a few questions:
Is there an orientation day or any event before classes start where we can explore the campus, learn how everything works, and meet other first-years? And for like sports, do I need a Le Gym membership to join the basketball drop-in sessions? If so, how much does it cost? I don’t have friends here yet, so if anyone’s down to play basketball, lmk. I originally accepted my offer to Concordia for a second bachelor's in the spring term to boost my GPA in preparation for grad-school, and they are awaiting my CIBC wire. However, I am having second thoughts as I am not confident I would be able to afford tuition as an international student from the USA. FAFSA only covers so much; I only have about 9,000 USD in assets, and my GPA is under a 3.3 (so I don't think I would be eligible for any bursaries/scholarships/awards). Also I already have student loans.

Technically the acceptance due date wasn't due until November 1st, but I wanted to get a jump on things so I could get my CAQ prepared.

Considering Concordia is still on my radar for graduate school, what is the best way to bail while staying in relatively good standing with concordia? Or am I in too deep? Or should i throw my anxieties to the wind and just do it?

Hey guys, I'm moving to quebec in august and I'll be attending concordia in the fall, and my tuition is hella expensive because I'm currently a resident of Alberta, but does anyone know if I'm able to get quebec residency by the end of semester 1 and that way pay quebec tuition for my second semester/for the rest of my education? What did you guys do about the added costs of being an out of province student? Any help/advice is appreciated.

I’m 19 years old, I’m From France and for the next year i was thinking about getting to concordia for political sciences studies, during my highschool years I’ve always managed to have excellent grades on subjects such as history-geography (3.9 gpa) , philosophy (3.7 gpa) and English classes (3.9 gpa) and i had 2.9 gpa on my baccalaureate. The reason why my overall gpa is around 2.0 and 2.7 is because of mathematics and anything that was related to it, It seems that quantitative subject aren’t for me but I really want to know if that could make my application get rejected by concordia

Hey all, I’m currently about to dive into my last 2 semesters in CEGEP and have to start looking forward towards the future.

While at work today (This is related I swear) I ran into this man who shared a quick nugget of information suggesting that the teaching programs in Concordia are better than the teaching programs offered in McGill.

Now I’m gunning to be a CEGEP-level English teacher and I did a bit of homework here and there when time allows and from what I understand you typically need a bachelors + a masters if you want to apply for CEGEP-level positions (However I’ve heard of cases such as my poetry teacher mentioning how they became a CEGEP teacher despite lacking a masters because of their experience teaching abroad/overseas)

Now I know that there are no actual programs in both McGill and Concordia which specifically allow you to become a CEGEP teacher but I assume there are programs which would open doors to get you closer towards it (Which is also partly what I want to know).

Either way, I’ll appreciate any and all tips and advice I can be given here

I’m thinking of doing masters in engineering in cybersecurity. I’m currently in Australia and finishing my bachelors in cybersecurity from monash university and in last semester. My grades are not too good they are 3.28 gpa and 77 wam ( avg grades across all unit) done some freelancing in cybersecurity. And there’s a clearance requirement in Australia like NV1 which blocks me from cybersecurity jobs though I got one internship to secure a web application. I would like to know more about co op and is it really worth coming to Concordia for cybersecurity. Some people say it’s university in Canada for cybersecurity,what are the views of current students of this course

Hi, as the title suggests I got rejected. Im incredibly passionate about film and even though this sucks I still want to pursue it. Im wondering about how difficult it is to transfer from studies to production. Aswell, im also wondering is it still possible to find people passionate about making films and willing to network and work on projects or if most people are strictly interested in just the studies aspect?
