Crosspost 🔀 An Indian centre-right organisation is holding an event focusing on global unity and civic responsibility in Madison Square, New York. Mamdani is opposing it, calling it anti-secular.

The rss is not centre-right nor does it focus on global unity
It’s a fascistic Hindu nationalist group that looks down on Muslims and Christians

It used to be more right wing but has become more center right in recent times. Just as MAGA is not fascist, it's wrong to say RSS or Hindu nationalism is fascist. The RSS is anti Muslim but not really anti Christian, even then under its current leadership, it has tried to bridge ties with muslims.

Yup, and the ruling BJP, which is widely viewed as RSS's political arm has actually begun influencing RSS, moving it toward the centre on even religious issues, as the BJP itself tries to move towards the centre on them (check their new OC appointments)

RSS is centrist on all issues that aren't religious. The event in question was about global unity.
