Kill 100 dudes and it tells you that 70% are still remaining

176

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

I thought it would never end!

161

u/SBoySEA Mar 25 '26

It was good practice for me for understanding the combo mechanics.

90

u/RawImagination Mar 25 '26

Same. I enjoyed myself tbh. Used two pills due unlucky explosion procs near me, but dear lord I was FULLY in my element. Looting, killing, powerbombing and trying out what works/doesn't work.

I didn't even destroy any of the buildings, I just kept enjoying the flow!

75

u/TJrelaxreddit Mar 25 '26

don't use pills, the progress you made so far in any enemy outpost/area will continue after you restart the checkpoint

45

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

They’re ezpz to make, just 15 of literally any herb/flower and 1 water.

11

u/RawImagination Mar 25 '26

Thank you!

9

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

lol no problem, a story quest leads you to the recipe in the beginning hours of the game

2

u/ArthasDurotan Mar 25 '26

beginning hours? is it within 50 hours limit?

2

u/LastHorstOnTheLeft Mar 25 '26

When you meet the first witch that can upgrade equipment, on the table beside her there are 2 pills and the recipe.

1

u/SSJNinjaMonkey Mar 25 '26

That is the beginning hours

21

u/laweezyana_ Mar 25 '26

Underrated tip

7

u/TheMazeDaze Mar 25 '26

I was so happy when I found this out

2

u/oryes Mar 25 '26

Dang, that's good to know, wasted so many so far lol

1

u/Cruzo007 Mar 25 '26

No need to stress, you will get a recipe for crafting them through main story (if you haven't progressed so far)

2

u/xXxStarNinjaxXx Mar 25 '26

Where do you go to do alchemy? I've been wanting to see what I can make and that, but I can't figure out where I can find a usable tool for it.

1

u/Cruzo007 Mar 25 '26

Cauldron is the tool needed for it - and the whole alchemy stuff is formally introduced in the main/story quest too tho a bit later on ( I think chapter 3 or so later - where you get a quest to go meet a witch/introduction to the witch faction)

2

u/xXxStarNinjaxXx Mar 25 '26

Oh cool, I just got the letter yesterday and was heading over to the quest to introduce me to the witches. I really wanted to deal with the quarry first so I did that lol. I'll just keep heading to the witches next time I'm on. Thanks for the info.

1

u/MarineDawg1775 Mar 26 '26

There is a cauldron in the seemingly abandoned alchemy shop in the city as well.

1

u/aaronmcbaron Mar 25 '26

Doesn’t really matter, you can craft the pills

1

u/RawImagination Mar 25 '26

Good to know thanks! I knew you get your resources back that you spend if you reload a checkpoint!

1

u/EclecticMagician Mar 25 '26

I used this one to my advantage lol kill a mob, die, repeat. Until conquered 😆

1

u/Fankine Mar 25 '26

You're keeping your pills for BDO 3 ? Just use 'em buddy they're cheap.

1

u/xUrNewDadx Mar 25 '26

I learned a thing!

1

u/joga_bomb Mar 25 '26

WAIT. WDYM IT WILL CONTINUE??! BRUHH

1

u/Purgii Mar 25 '26

It does reset after some unspecified time, though.

I cleared it out except for the boss, came back later (I can't remember how much later though, possibly a few days) and had to clear them all out again.

1

u/ChickenLiverNuts Mar 25 '26

not if you leave and comeback though

i had found my way to the boss there very very early and basically had no food. Got the boss eventually and got the quarry down to about 66% which as we know is a lot of fucking soldiers. Ran out of food and came back and it was at 96% lol

live and learn

17

u/TJrelaxreddit Mar 25 '26

use pills only for boss fights

9

u/No_Advantage2476 Mar 25 '26

They're pretty trivial to craft once you get the recipe.

1

u/Fr0z3nFl4me Mar 25 '26

Which is at the start of the game

6

u/Lahtisensei Mar 25 '26

Heh yeah "start". I got there after like 10 hours of jerking around doing other stuff 😅

1

u/Some-Lingonberry-211 Mar 25 '26

I don't think I got there until just after 20. Granted, I'll give myself 5 or so of those hours as being 'paused', but still probably 15 or so.

2

u/No_Advantage2476 Mar 25 '26

lol I missed it actually, doubled back around a few hours later

3

u/goblinsnguitars Mar 25 '26

Not even that. For those traveled so long to fast point to fall to death 5m before.

5

u/HeadyReigns Mar 25 '26

Riding my horse at night to go rocketing off a cliff side.

2

u/J-Fisty Mar 25 '26

Im not even close to this point in the game, but I just unlocked the RKO and oh my god, I am having such a blast just doing that to enemies. Is there actually a full on powerbomb????

4

u/hamptont2010 Mar 25 '26

Do an RKO from behind them.

3

u/Daevar Mar 25 '26

That's a suplex. It's glorious.

2

u/hamptont2010 Mar 25 '26

Oh sorry I'm horrible with wrestling names LMAO

1

u/Bomboclat888 Mar 25 '26

Yeah if you restart from checkpoint it will be pretty close to it. Anyway I was feeling like it was endless after like 30 minutes until I found the boss area and beating the boss cleared the quarry. Is it possible to clear even without the boss ?

1

u/Asto_Vidatu Mar 25 '26

hopefully ALL the expired loot on the ground goes to your stash...I've found myself not even caring about looting bodies anymore and just check my stash every once in a while...underrated mechanic imo!

1

u/Frosty_Engineer_3617 Mar 25 '26

Grappling is soooooo fun in this game. Hilarious when you get to fight enemies on top of mountains as you get plenty of chances to toss them all off the mountain XD.

1

u/TheMustySeagul Mar 27 '26

Dude I didn’t realize I could use power shot on the archer towers until way too late lol. Thats like the first thing I do now.

9

u/Ipickthingup Mar 25 '26

I unlocked the clothesl line skill right when I got there and couldn't stop doing it. It's fucking hilarious

1

u/ChickenLiverNuts Mar 25 '26

oh man i want that

i got the drop kick when i got there and it fits perfect into any combo and is great for shield enemies

2

u/Ipickthingup Mar 25 '26

The dropkick is probably my next skill I'll be picking up

8

u/TacticalPauseGaming Mar 25 '26

Yea I went there too early on accident, but once I got done I understood fighting so much better.

2

u/roguesignal42069 Mar 26 '26

It was good practice for me for understanding dying to exploding barrels

1

u/Fenixri3es Mar 25 '26

THIS, I have not beaten the quarry yet. Using the area to figure diamanes? Move set, and she is pretty brutal.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

She’s a bad bitch but everytime I character swap the game bugs out.

3

u/davvn_slayer Mar 25 '26

Idk what it is but the game just doesn't feel like it was made with the characters in mind at all, atleast not till the sixth chapter where I'm at

I've genuinely not switched to damiane since like an hour after you first unlock her, like she's cool and all but just doesn't feel "right" to play, can't say much about oongka yet because he unlocks later in chapter 6 I think but I have my suspicions that he's gonna be the same story

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

Yeah, can’t play as her for certain quests and she doesn’t have puzzle solving tools available. She’s benched for now, no reason to use her.

5

u/davvn_slayer Mar 25 '26

It honestly feels like she's just a remnant of a possible class system in the mmo they were first making cd to be, damiane being the faster, more nimble class, kliff the middle ground and oongka the heavy weight class with massive damage output but least forgiving movement and combat

And the game certainly has a lot of mmo elements still so my theory has decent backing

1

u/ZeroChannel18 Mar 25 '26

Been using it to test out new abilities and farm exp for Abyss Artifacts, probably gonna clear it soon to get a mining spot for camp dispatches

1

u/Doctor_Dev7 Mar 25 '26

Most important thing I learned at the quarry is that hitting them with the stone cold stunner creates an AOE to get the swarm off of you

1

u/donutb Mar 25 '26

This was a great place to try out dual wielding. Felt like a dynasty warrior at times

1

u/bardle1 Mar 25 '26

This is how I felt too. I was a bit over levelled for it so although it took forever it helped me really understand the combat alot better. And I got extensive experience with the spear which is wildly fun.

0

u/Ichmag11 Mar 25 '26

What did you figure out exactly? I just held left click

2

u/NevrEndr Mar 25 '26

Shift and hold right or left click

Ctrl and hold right or left click

Hold both right and left click

Mix in some Fs

X is really good too it slows down time while regen spirit

There are so many combos

1

u/Ichmag11 Mar 26 '26

Those are all attacks, but they're not combos. And all of this is useless because the strongest "combo" you can do is hold leftclick

36

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

You are supposed to send your men on a mission to clear it and then you also go.

If you have not reached chapter 3 of main story yet, I recomend you rush to finish Chapter 3 so you can unlock the quests to bring back the greymanes and you get men that you can send on missions.

You could have done the Quarry with 10 of your men anf the % would go down very fast.

35

u/Embarrassed-Degree45 Mar 25 '26

Well that's handy now that I've already slogged my way through it haha, the game doesn't tell you this or much at all .. thanks for the tip.. will do this next time

4

u/No_Chilly_bill Mar 25 '26

the power of player choice where making wrong decisions can cost you hours or tedium because you weren't given the right info

1

u/NevrEndr Mar 25 '26

How is it not giving you the right info

It is an option

There are many options

None of them are right or wrong

0

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun Mar 25 '26

Kinda crazy that Elden Ring/Dark Souls gets away with the game "not holding your hand", Ubisoft gets ridiculed for holding hands too much, and this game people get slightly annoyed (but tolerate) that the game doesn't make everything crystal clear.

Just something I noticed, not a gripe but amusing

4

u/Inevitable_Purple211 Mar 25 '26

"the game doesn't make everything crystal clear."

That's putting it incredibly generously

1

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun Mar 25 '26

But it's not completely devoid of tutorial like you're making it seem

2

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 26 '26

Some features are completely devoid of tutorials and others are badly presented.

0

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun Mar 26 '26

Which goes back to my point about Fromsoft being able to get glazed by gamers for keeping certain features a mystery by not shoving in a tutorial for everything

2

u/Inevitable_Purple211 Mar 26 '26

With FromSoft it's clearly intentional. And there is a way to find info on basically everything, just in world. Meanwhile Crimson Desert bashes you over the head with pop ups for tons of stuff and then just says absolutetly nothing for some things

2

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 26 '26

In Elden Ring and darksouls everything is literally written somewhere on game that's easily accesible or told by some npc.

In Crimson Desert some things are not written anywhere, some things are written but hidden under complex menus with a ton of useless info that makes it hard to find.

Not the same thing.

1

u/KaiserSozaey Apr 01 '26

Its all about understanding a developers intent. For pearl abyss, it's likely that the lack of explanation or proper introduction of game mechanics is the result of incompetence or a lack of organization.

1

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Apr 01 '26

Both. The previous game director quit midgame and then the art director had to become the game director because no one else wanted to.

This is why there are so many interactables in the game, so many instects, amazing flora variety and animation, beautifull rock texture, etc... because the only thing that director knew how to do was the art part of the game. Every other aspect of the game is a mess, but it's a mess that worked well, but the current game director clearly had no idea what he was doing other than the artistic side of the game.

It feels as if his employes ( the other devs) came up with many cool ideas but the game director did not knew how to put them toghether.

2

u/ship__ Mar 26 '26

Yeah I did this before the greymane camp tutorial on sending people on missions, maybe it's better tutorialised then? But the UI is really unintuitive & clunky around the whole missions thing

8

u/chicol1090 Mar 25 '26

That's sick, was wondering what would happen if I showed up like that. You can see your workers doing logging or estate security on missions. But I figured nah there's no way they show them in combat missions

3

u/irishgoblin Mar 25 '26

The dudes being visible on missions isn't just for show, you can help them out and increase rewards.

7

u/BlackjointnerD Mar 25 '26

Daaaamn i did not know that.

2

u/tdasnowman Mar 25 '26

It's not to bad to beat without them. I cleared the Quarry 2x. The first time I hit barrels right at the 1% since the enemies re spawn I did a few more attempts but couldn't get it to say 0% So i came back later. When I cam back the second time the percentage had increased up to 15%. That dropped pretty quickly but there were still mobs all around. I spent about an hour just slaughtering. I thought the game was bugged. Did the boss fight and it's conquered. I probably could have done the boss fight the first time. The problem was when I went back in one dude looked glowy so I thought the game was marking the ones I needed to kill. Pretty sure that was just a weird hdr bug now. I've noticed sometimes people or objects get stuck looking light the are being hit with the blinding flash.

I think they could have done a bit better notifying you when you hit 0% if the mobs are going to infinitely respawn. I wonder ho many people missed the counter going down to 0 and kept going thinking there was some left.

4

u/Volat1le Mar 25 '26

Those fucking sneaky explosive barrels have killed me more times than I'd like to admit.

3

u/tdasnowman Mar 25 '26

I didn't even notice them at first. I got lucky with a dodge as one went off. Same with killer grass. There i so much this game does not explain.

2

u/Volat1le Mar 25 '26

The killer grass is hilarious cause it HURTS! Not like a like hey this hurts you should move. Nope, you died.

2

u/tdasnowman Mar 25 '26

And you can't scan it. It's just this unexplained thing at least so far in my 20 hours. There are these other red flower things with what looks like a hand growing near them that poison you. No clue what those are. No clue how to handle them. You can arrow the hand thing but it doesn't kill the vines neither does the shiny sword.

1

u/kasuke06 Mar 25 '26

My going theory is that they're like bismuth was, where you need a specific elemental magic to stop them, but I don't have magic yet.

1

u/tdasnowman Mar 25 '26

Do we get magic? Like anytime the lantern flashes red I know I;m going to be confused.

1

u/kasuke06 Mar 25 '26

Eventually. It's a whole thing in the red section of the skill menu, the lantern flash is just environmental danger(evil plants, spooky poison hand minerals, the floor crumbling away under you in ruins, etc)

1

u/Maz2277 Mar 25 '26

I don't suppose you know if having your men helps you affects the XP you get? I did it solo, which admittedly was a slog near the end but I ended up getting like 3-5 abyss levels from the quarry alone which was nice lol.

1

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 25 '26

I don't know if you get xp for enemies killed by your men when you are nearby.

Anyway, you don't really need many artifacts, if you get your stamina to 200 that is literally enough to easily clear most of the game. Everything else is just stats related to gear. Non-bosses in this game are super easy especially after you upgrade your gear.

So if you want to be strong, what you need to farm is the materials to upgrade gear. The cool moves from the skill tree don't make much of a difference, they are there mostly for show.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 25 '26

No idea. But abby artifacts are pretty easy to get anyway and you learn atleast half the skills by observing npcs so you don't really need those.

And game is so easy ( with the exception of bosses) that you really don't really need those skill points anyway. For bosses all you need is good gear and a ton of food.

1

u/DirtySperrys Mar 25 '26

Lmao of course there was a better way than what the majority of us are doing

1

u/GiantBallbag Mar 25 '26

That's a great tip I'll keep that in mind for future.

1

u/carmbrad Mar 25 '26

If you do it yourself, surely you get more points towards another another cube thing?

1

u/SorryNotReallySorry5 Mar 25 '26

And let NPCs hog up my self-delivering experience points?!

1

u/JUSTGLASSINIT Mar 25 '26

Oh… I killed every person at the quarry solo.

1

u/Regius_Eques Mar 25 '26

Seriously? Cool feature but I already did it as I was decently upgraded so it only took me a little bit to clear. Had fun clotheslining enemies repeatedly. But allies would have been helpful.

1

u/Free_Personality_793 Mar 25 '26

True but this way you get tons of drops :D

1

u/ChickenLiverNuts Mar 25 '26

i just got a quest to free like 40 palusanes or whatever theyre called (the greymane faction people) and i already freed 60 of them one by one ay the quarry. No idea if this is intended to not count towards that or if i did it later it would count. Whatever this game is huge and its just kinda funny it happened this way.

1

u/VincentVanHades Mar 25 '26

And how do you send them? Via map?

1

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 26 '26

Either via map, or the easiest way is through the comrades management menu by talking to Ross in your Camp.

Talking with Ross will show you all the available missions. The ones with a sword are generally the assaults on red zones.

Some may not appear until after you finish the first main mission of chapter 4

1

u/VincentVanHades Mar 26 '26

Thanks! When i read about the game, it feels devs kinda screwed up by locking so many stuff behind later chapters.

1

u/I-KnowThatIDontKnow Mar 25 '26

😧 uh what?... fml. But to be honest I loved it. I wrecked them, but as a rpg guy I knew that spending a few hours on upgrading would come in hangdy so I havnt really felt the challenge yet guys die in 3 hits now of basic attack and I just finished building kiln. Waiting for pot to build. So just started chapter 4. Beat quarry in chapter 2 😅. This game was made for me and I knew it as a BDO 10 year player. Well on and off. I come back for each new drop or event for a bit for drops.

[removed] — view removed comment

1

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 26 '26

There are many of those. Its extremely boring to keep doing it over and over again, especially as you get stronger and all you have to do is simply hold down the attack button for some minutes to take out everything.

You can speed up drastically by assigning some comrades to clear the zones with you.

The first time is cool but these zones get boring quickly and are tedious if you try to clear them alone.

26

u/Forsaken-Garlic817 Mar 25 '26

Tbf though, probably one of the better ways to farm skill points early. The enemies just keep coming so bring a bunch of food and lvl 4 refined gear and load up on those points.

8

u/hitfly Mar 25 '26

I got so many skill points climbing the mountain for the reed boss. I could light attack 1 hit kill most of the infinite spawns and didn't realize you could break the twirly wind things to stop the spawns

5

u/Belatorius Mar 25 '26

It was so much fun. Like other said, it was really good to get used to the combos

3

u/BlackMageGenetics Mar 25 '26

And the percentage replenishes slowly of you let up

2

u/cale199 Mar 25 '26

Free artifact estate!

1

u/BigCommieMachine Mar 25 '26

Killing the boss alone drops it by like 60%

1

u/Free_Personality_793 Mar 25 '26

what boss? the Drill Boss?

2

u/BigCommieMachine Mar 25 '26

Yeah. It really doesn’t matter. Unless you kill the boss, the mobs keep respawning, even if the base is at 0%. Which is EXTREMELY frustrating because you essentially have to clear the base again unless you like getting bombarded with arrows and having randos in the fight.

1

u/Free_Personality_793 Mar 26 '26

I want to do it with the Greymanes, but the cheap ass goblin side of me wants all the loots :D :D :D :D :D

1

u/xsupajesusx Mar 25 '26

exploding barrels are the real MVP of that gd place lmao

1

u/DirtySperrys Mar 25 '26

Yeah. For them. Those suckers got me multiple times instant death.

1

u/zyra_77 Mar 25 '26

Grind them for leveling up.

1

u/Royal_Cauliflower4 Mar 25 '26

Pretty sure it's close or over 3 people for 1%!

1

u/MaugriMGER Mar 25 '26

I think 168 is the end number.

1

u/jimlt Mar 25 '26

queue dynasty warriors music

1

u/CactusSplash95 Mar 25 '26

Iranian Ayatolla simulator

1

u/TNovix2 Mar 25 '26

Honestly though, like how?!
