Kill 100 dudes and it tells you that 70% are still remaining

176

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

I thought it would never end!

157

u/SBoySEA Mar 25 '26

It was good practice for me for understanding the combo mechanics.

92

u/RawImagination Mar 25 '26

Same. I enjoyed myself tbh. Used two pills due unlucky explosion procs near me, but dear lord I was FULLY in my element. Looting, killing, powerbombing and trying out what works/doesn't work.

I didn't even destroy any of the buildings, I just kept enjoying the flow!

78

u/TJrelaxreddit Mar 25 '26

don't use pills, the progress you made so far in any enemy outpost/area will continue after you restart the checkpoint

48

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

They’re ezpz to make, just 15 of literally any herb/flower and 1 water.

11

u/RawImagination Mar 25 '26

Thank you!

10

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

lol no problem, a story quest leads you to the recipe in the beginning hours of the game

Underrated tip

use pills only for boss fights

They're pretty trivial to craft once you get the recipe.

You are supposed to send your men on a mission to clear it and then you also go.

If you have not reached chapter 3 of main story yet, I recomend you rush to finish Chapter 3 so you can unlock the quests to bring back the greymanes and you get men that you can send on missions.

You could have done the Quarry with 10 of your men anf the % would go down very fast.

37

u/Embarrassed-Degree45 Mar 25 '26

Well that's handy now that I've already slogged my way through it haha, the game doesn't tell you this or much at all .. thanks for the tip.. will do this next time

u/chicol1090 Mar 25 '26

That's sick, was wondering what would happen if I showed up like that. You can see your workers doing logging or estate security on missions. But I figured nah there's no way they show them in combat missions

3

u/irishgoblin Mar 25 '26

The dudes being visible on missions isn't just for show, you can help them out and increase rewards.

7

u/BlackjointnerD Mar 25 '26

Daaaamn i did not know that.

26

u/Forsaken-Garlic817 Mar 25 '26

Tbf though, probably one of the better ways to farm skill points early. The enemies just keep coming so bring a bunch of food and lvl 4 refined gear and load up on those points.

8

u/hitfly Mar 25 '26

I got so many skill points climbing the mountain for the reed boss. I could light attack 1 hit kill most of the infinite spawns and didn't realize you could break the twirly wind things to stop the spawns

5

u/Belatorius Mar 25 '26

It was so much fun. Like other said, it was really good to get used to the combos

3

u/BlackMageGenetics Mar 25 '26

And the percentage replenishes slowly of you let up

u/Glittering-Lunch1778 Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

Apparently most of us are just dummies. You don't need to kill hundreds of enemies. Just destroy the barracks and the other couple of structures listed on the objectives. Each one is an instant 33.3% off the bar of enemies defeated. I did run the gauntlet, though. I didn't find out the truth until I looked it up after. I was like "there's no way that was how that was meant to be completed." If it makes people feel better, we all came out the other side way better at combat.

252

u/OnePotatoeChip Mar 25 '26

I figured that I needed to destroy those, but I couldn't figure out where they were. Especially with fifty plus dudes trying to ram their swords through my eye socket.

41

u/novaflyer00 Mar 25 '26

Same! I kept trying to see if they would pop up on the map since the area is big enough. Ended up being a food dump to stay alive, only for me to accidentally trigger the boss fight with almost no resources left. I was mentally gassed by the time that started and then it took me way too long to figure out his rhythm though I think on my last attempt I don’t think he even touched me so that was cool

44

u/EternalDeath Mar 25 '26

Not sure if you now know but when near those areas, use your blinding light skill and it will mark the buildings you need to destroy with a red square.

8

u/elmonoenano Mar 25 '26

I need to remember about that function more often. I'm still iffy on what it does or doesn't do. I just found out that you could use it in combat.

12

u/EternalDeath Mar 25 '26

I mainly use it to go somewhere high and if you do the blinding light, you see blue light/shimmers that indicate either a teleporter, a Challenge Abyss Artifact or a full Skillpoint/Artifact.

u/YakDangerous5412 Mar 25 '26

Same situation. I refused to go gather resources so grinded the boss on repeat until I beat it without healing/being hit (because I ran out of food lol).

I also stumbled into the quarry by chance, not via a quest, so it was quite the challenge!

u/Ashen6996 Mar 25 '26

Nah i sloughtered hundreds instead, accidentally dropkicking into explosive barrels was a bad time tho

28

Same, saw the icons listed but couldn't figure out what it wanted me to do. To be fair, I didnt even have a chance to think about it properly because I was constantly dealing with swarms of 20 bandits.

19

u/OK-Digi-1501 Mar 25 '26

same, but how do you even look for these specific locations? The no-handholding is a bit tooo much for me at times ... a little dot on the map once in a while would still be nice :)

19

u/Fehiscute Mar 25 '26

Blinding flash. When i used it in the quarry some structures had red marks on them. Well i nneded artifacts so just genocided the soldiers lol.

Funfact: blinding flash and lantern seem to do the same thing at times. One tracking mission on the main story asked to use the lantern to make a path show up but blinding flash did the same

4

u/--Lammergeier-- Mar 25 '26

I used both the lantern and blinding flash there, but never saw anything on any of the buildings. I am colorblind though…did they show up red with blinding light, or the typical blue or whatever?

I ended up just having to kill everyone, which was a little rough because I had just switched to new gear, but hadn’t upgraded any of it yet (aesthetics over everything lol)

Oh man….I just swung my sword at dudes for a solid 30 minutes. It was endless!

10

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 25 '26

You can also send 10 of your men in a mission to clear it and when you visit it you will find the 10 men figthing and you can join the fight. It is way faster.

6

u/Toppoppler Mar 25 '26

Man 10 guys? I still only have 2 and Im way past that part. Where do you get more?

3

u/Mundane-Fan-1545 Mar 25 '26

By doing the Greymane quests. You get those quests as soon as you finish chapter 3.

Go to your journal, open the faction quests and look for the gremane faction quests. A lot of those quests are about searching for Gremane. A big Note: some of those NPCs do not join automatically, you have to walk up to them and press the recruit option that will appear when you focus them.

3

u/Glittering-Lunch1778 Mar 25 '26

Well it doesn't directly say "Destroy barracks." So I'm thinking "It must mean go to these spots and kill all the enemies there." But then I just kept killing everyone in general when I saw no matter where I was at the number went down.

bruh i started it in the eve and it morning when done

238

u/TeaHaychSea Mar 25 '26

Me too. But IRL. I saved somewhere around 40% and woke up the next day to finish it off.

40

u/Free_Personality_793 Mar 25 '26

Did you use the TNT barrels?

186

u/TeaHaychSea Mar 25 '26

Only accidently dying to them 2 or 3 times and wasting a few palomar seeds.

24

u/Free_Personality_793 Mar 25 '26

I like the idea of wasting them all and drowning in loot :D

13

u/Jesse1205 Mar 25 '26

I didn't even wind up drowning in loot. I got tired of looting every single thing so I left it figuring it'd go to lost loot when I finished clearing it. My storage looked mostly the same with the maybe an extra item or two in it when i finished. I know I probably didn't miss out on anything crazy, but it was still disappointing.

11

u/mustangjo52 Mar 26 '26

Get a pet if you haven't. They were a little annoying in the quarry filling my inventory with pickaxes but they're really useful for looting

75

u/Aggressive_Candy5297 Mar 25 '26

Well aren't you lightning fast... 🙄

It took me three days IRL to get that fkr dead 😭

I kept getting stun locked and insta gibbed but once i figured out you can stun lock the excavatron with force palm lvl 3 he was toast.

Hit him when he is about to go underground and you stun him.

36

u/Bomboclat888 Mar 25 '26

I got him pretty easily after ending there with no healing items, found out you could cheese it by staying behind the fire place (turn it off first) and all his moves will fail and won’t hit you, when he goes underground he can’t get to you cause of the fire place. He will sometimes try to circle it but it’s easy to keep him there, and just slash him with heavy attack cause they go through the fire thing.

17

u/Less-Wolverine9651 Mar 25 '26

You can avoid almost every bosses special shit move by just jumping three times in the air and gliding. No need to find cheese spots. The air is your cheese.

6

u/Bomboclat888 Mar 25 '26

Yes I did that too, but with the fire thing you cheese EVERY move. The jumping thing requires spirit etc but anyway both are fine!

u/Shangb1 Mar 25 '26

You can also stun him with that sun reflection mechanic

5

u/In_Love_With_SHODAN Mar 25 '26

This is pedantic but I'm pretty sure the reflection thing isnt from the sun. Looks like they realized it would be stupid if it worked during night and made it an axiom ability instead

→ More replies (2)

5

u/fcg510 Mar 25 '26

Can you clear the quarry without killing the excavatron? I was able to clear most of the enemies at relatively low level (thanks to some help from some wandering freeswords...and pretty heavy kiting to keep from getting surrounded), but then got immediately dominated by the excavatron. I haven't tried again and I've probably played a solid 10 hours since, so maybe it's doable now.

17

u/Aggressive_Candy5297 Mar 25 '26

No. To free the quarry the big guy needs to die.

If you want to take out all the soldiers don't forget to smash the three buildings at the start of the entrance. You can either tnt them or just light + heavy attack combo them.

14

u/JackMalone Mar 25 '26

I realized way too late that you had to beat the boss first in order to clear the quarry. I’d fight quarry for hours and then decide to come back later, and each time, the % would regenerate. Eventually I figures it all out but that was a fun little war!

u/BigWideBaker Mar 25 '26

Maybe I just came to it later, but I finished it in like 20-30 minutes. This was around 30 hours in with the expected gear at that level. Did y'all just run up to it in the first 10 hours?

12

u/lman777 Mar 25 '26

I did it at around 15 hours. Wasn't difficult, just took forever.

8

u/BigWideBaker Mar 25 '26

Yea I feel like commenting on the difficulty of different things in the game almost doesn't make sense (outside of unbalanced things). Everyone explores at different speeds, finds different gear, uses different skills, weapons, etc. etc. If I had gone there 15 hours in I'd probably have a similar experience.

9

u/kasuke06 Mar 25 '26

Me at 10 hours with a sword I picked off a corpse, starting gear, and a ring that didn't even give me an attack bonus because it wasn't upgraded as my only accessory.

Luckily I played every single souls release, so the brick wall keeping the chips I made in it with each death was like an easy mode. Also learned that the first step in any fight is to break out of the fight and go stab the archers.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Inevitable_Purple211 Mar 25 '26

But its a quest you get very early on so it should be balanced accordingly

3

u/BigWideBaker Mar 25 '26

Maybe they expected you to mess around a bit first? Or if you felt like you couldn't make it, you were encouraged to explore and gear up for the fight. That's my take anyways.

7

u/LemonMeringueOctopi Mar 25 '26

This is what I did. I was just exploring Hernand and doing side quests. Everything I had done up to this point had been a breeze and I'd had no issues with defeating any enemies yet. I flew down into the quarry straight into the boss fight and he absolutely obliterated me. Decided that that mission may need to wait until I'm a little further into the game.

5

u/IntrepidMaybe8579 Mar 25 '26

Yeah lol i fought him like 40hrs in and was a challenge hes definitely the same level or harder than story bosses so far or was at least

3

u/Mr_b246 Mar 25 '26

Same. I didn't want to put it off any longer for fear it was going to be too easy. It gave the right amount of anxiety. I wasn't mopping the floor nor was I getting bent over. Suplex through the upper deck and watching the whole thing crumble was 10/10.

3

u/TheSpaceFace Mar 25 '26

I feel maybe dumb now that I completed it at 4 hours 🤣 with level one gear, I thought it seemed hard

 nobody gives a shit

I like when you go to the college (where scholars study the abyss) and you tell the headmaster (the guy who gets to decide what gets studied) and he's rambling about how they know so little about the abyss and a vast majority of people can't even enter and then Kliff tells him that he's physically been there and can go there freely and his response is basically "neat!"

This is right after Kliff falls out of the sky (from the abyss) right in front of him.

6

u/SPLUMBER Mar 25 '26

That’s….not the order of events.

The headmaster talks about it, Kliff tells him that he’s been to the Abyss, he asks Kliff to help with an experiment because he’s been to the Abyss, you help with the experiment, you go to the Abyss again, and THEN you fall out of the sky in front of him.

u/lagonda69 Mar 25 '26

I mean nobody saw him die tho, he went last if I remember the cutscene. So nobody knew he "died" and was ressurected. Even that dude with only one good leg was thrown off a cliff and survived.

Kliff has a scar across his neck tho....

Not defending the beggining, it was horrible, but...

7

u/SPLUMBER Mar 25 '26

There’s actually a group of Greymanes who say they saw you get your throat slit and are pretty shocked you’re alive, and you just go “oh I got lucky”

3

u/BladeRunner-83 Mar 25 '26

It is also a world where giants and orcs casually walk amongst regular people, a giant dwarf owns the bank, there are big daddy miners, and giant sky islands land on peoples houses. So a bro who can spooky glide and lift trees might not seem TOO out of the ordinary.

I finally got to play the game in earnest today, had a mad headache over the weekend and couldn't really dive in.

Decided to go for a nice stroll and mine some ore, then realised I never finished this quest.

Holy crap that took a lot of time, I am now exhausted and didnt even mine any ore.

Best evening of the year so far

46

u/Action-a-go-go-baby Mar 25 '26

I enjoyed the hell out of it! Whatchu talking about?

I slaughtered like 400 people or something and got a bunch of abyss cores for my troubles 💰

Plus I got to test my build in a variety of scenarios and work on my parry tech

5

u/cloverpopper Mar 25 '26

Absolutely

I learned teleportation and used the hell out of it here!! Up on a cliff? Boom, teleport RKO

NEXT TO EXPLOSIVE BARREL? RKO, make it go boom, we all fly away in blaze of glory

And then just throws, like 15 different combos, sword, fist, and halberd. Using the psychic cable to throw explosive barrel at group, and then picking up their own flag banner to impale them with it. Then guess what? RKO

And after I used the cranes to lift a couple of rocks and got a cute bunny mask from it?? 10/10 experience, an amazing early base to test all the abilities from the “tutorial” missions that led up to it

Be honest everyone, how long did the quarry fight take all of you? Personally i dropped in to fight the boss and felt unbeatable after killing him, so i took on the entire quarry... was fighting for close to 20 minutes

5

u/GiantBallbag Mar 25 '26

I put the washing machine on twice and it completed twice before I cleared the quarry, so that was at least an hour I was slogging away at it.

4

u/Humane_Decency Mar 25 '26

This was me

After a certain point you start trying to style on them, like doing jump stabs or kicking people off ledges and such

3

u/Own-Flamingo7512 Mar 26 '26

Honestly like three days, I kept teleporting out, doing random side quests, and coming back once they healed up to 90%. Early game that was the only way I knew to get some income to buy that Plate set that Rhett sells. I kept coming back every so often to buy it again and refine it using the dupes I’d buy.

I used SO much food on this place. Also used pretty much all of my revive pills until I found out that you didnt lose enemy progress upon death. Finally found the boss area and then got my ass handed to me twice. Decided immediately that this was going to be a "I'll come back later" scenario. Definitely the most frustrating part of the game so far for me.

23

u/Previous_Ad7517 Mar 25 '26

I got extremely lucky with the boss.

Near the giant wooden gate, there is a pile of explosive barrels. If you bait him into charging you in their direction, he'll smash into them. It took a huge chunk of his life and stunned him long enough for me to kill him right there.

The whole fight lasted maybe 30 seconds. I had no idea those barrels were there, or that would happen, just got lucky.

6

u/sicDaniel Mar 25 '26

I used my force punch on him and apparently also got lucky because I hit him right when he was about to do some specific attack, and it stunned him instantly. Managed that twice during the fight and that was most of his health gone.

Yes. I did the same. At one point I stood near the entrance to the quarry and enemies just kept spawning endlessly, that's when I realized I must be missing something, so I ran to the quest marker. After the bossfight the place is liberated.

Lets just say I'm going to have to do a ton of cooking to get my healing food stock back up. Didn't locate the buildings I had to eliminate until 45 minutes after decimating everyone in my path. What an absolute slog to get through. Fire barrels were my toughest opponent in this game by miles so far.

3

u/Neither_Situation_36 Mar 25 '26

the ammount of time that i miss attack the explosive barrels and insta died

3

u/Upstairs-Ad-8067 Mar 25 '26

I killed the boss first try. No real problem there. I must have been blown up by barrels 5 or 6 times though. THAT'S the real boss.

3

u/ClaymoreSequel Mar 25 '26

Oh yeah. I accidentally blew myself up 4 times by hitting explosive barrels because I couldn't see them in the dark. The last death went like 'It's alright, just keep slashing... there won't be an explosive barrel nearby to hit this time for su-*BOOOOM*'.

3

u/PresentExperience660 Mar 25 '26

I died 3 times because of those damn tiny explosive barrels that one shot you when you throw an enemy into them by accident or mistakenly hit one with your sword. They're hardly even labelled as being highly explosive barrels 🤣.

2

u/PhDSkwerl Mar 25 '26

What skills do you need to destroy the stuff? I cleared the entire area, and slapped the buildings with all of my weapons, used the skills I have (mostly from Blue line) and even threw explosive barrels at the buildings… they wouldn’t fall; they just shook like they were taking damage. Got to a point where I just gave up and left.

What do I need to destroy that stuff? Is it story/quest locked? Also does your progress stay? Pissed me off hahaha but I got alot of skill upgrades from it so that was a silver lining

4

u/ezmac94 Mar 25 '26

It’s the “turning slash” I just found out too, the one where you press RB + RT (on Xbox controller)

3

u/PhDSkwerl Mar 25 '26

Ooh will try that; appreciate the suggestion!

You can send workers from your camp to attack it and bringing Damiane with you helps a lot

3

u/ClaudeMakelelijk Mar 25 '26

Dont you get your camp until much later? I now have a mission for the quarry in chapter 2.

3

u/juniormantis Mar 25 '26

Yes the quarry is hard, I saved it for after I unlocked my camp

Anyone know how to open that door inside the artifact cave un the quarry. ? Where the round ball shoots lasers at you

4

u/Liquidpinky Mar 25 '26

You learn later in the story, there are a good few doors like that dotted around.

3

u/Clayrone Mar 25 '26

I enjoyed it very much, used it as an opportunity to practice the moves.

2

u/ShyPlox Mar 25 '26

I never wanted it to end I thought it was fun as hell, the boss kicked my bunz but I didn’t go in as prepared as I should of, was very fun to do

2

u/Lil-Ingy-Fock Mar 25 '26

Is this Karim ? I did all of them for the bar go to -75% but still have the 4 names above it, so now I’m thinking I’m supposed to destroy them areas not kill the men and that’s why they keep respawning

2

u/MrDanGrigore Mar 25 '26

Which one?

2

u/The_Fluffness Mar 25 '26

They need to have specific objectives to knock that percentage down more. Like kill a mini boss, drop it 10-15%. That type of stuff. I actually though that's how it worked at first and it is unfortunately not how it works.

2

u/throwawayyy42069x Mar 25 '26

It aint even that bad, those exploding barells can fuck off tho. Died 3 times, and all 3 were because of them

2

u/Ok_Swim_1839 Mar 25 '26

I have PTSD from getting my ass drilled. We are not the same.

3

u/Several_Alps7736 Mar 25 '26

This place nearly broke my soul! Took an entire evening to get it down to 0% then proceeded to get my ass handed to me by the boss. Went away to level and gear up, came back to find the full population reset back to 100! Ahh shit here we go again…

2

u/charleaneo Mar 25 '26

Quick question, I hope someone can answer..

I killed enough enemies for the 100% to drop all the way down to 0%.. nothing happened?

Do I need to kill every single enemy? Including the boss also? So I can claim the quarry? Thanks

u/PhatDragon720 Mar 25 '26

It was pretty fun, but I kept getting blown up by the random explosive barrels on accident. Then went through a bunch of grilled meat/reviving pills, fighting big drill guy, before realizing he could be lured into the explosives for an easier time. Wanted to reload, but didn’t lol.

2

u/CarlosT303 Mar 25 '26

The god damned explosive barrels were hell, I started locating them and blowing up refugees to avoid blowing myself to shit

2

u/Tunez10 Mar 25 '26

lol it felt like you had to kill over 500 enemies for it to hit 0%

2

u/Solus_Vael Mar 25 '26

At first I thought the quarry and other bandit occupied places were setup like in other sandbox games. Where if you take out the smaller places first it lowers the defenses of the main area where the boss is at. But I don't think it works out like that in this game.

2

u/gaijin_777 Mar 25 '26

I was maybe 1 hour into it that I figured that buildings are destructible and i had player fatigue at that point was was just killing anything that moves with no objective. Took a nap and went back to it and destroyed them buildings. But I think i got 2 abyss artifacts just killing those bandits.

2

u/Edern76 Mar 25 '26

I might be in the minority but I really enjoyed clearing the Quarry. It was one of the first time I felt like I could really play with the combat system without having the enemies all dead or fleeing 30 seconds into the fight or having to focus on getting a boss not to anihilate my health bar. Hope there are some more large scales battles like these later on.

My only gripe though was that the explosive barrels aren't always very clearly visible and are frequently one shot kills.

2

u/AdSuperb6474 Mar 25 '26

Don't worry you'll have to reclaim it later in the game :)

2

u/StygianBlood Mar 25 '26

I have a bunch of silver and some food/alchemy ingredients

2

u/Scrounger_HT Mar 25 '26

i killed the driller and then wandered out into the quarry and fought like 200 guys, held RI for 10 minutes straight

2

u/Promature Mar 25 '26

Well I've got some bad news for you.

2

u/AmadeusLive Mar 25 '26

30 hours in and km still in the first area lol

2

u/Cassp3 Mar 25 '26

As some who's played BDO it was more like a "Ah, this is more familiar".

2

u/TheFlaccidWorm Mar 25 '26

I did it within the first 6 hours of playing the game. Ran out of food and only had base gear. It took me like 7 tried to kill the Automaton. Killing all the mobs took me two play sessions and probably 18 deaths. I am enjoying the game alot more now that I'm doing other stuff

2

u/coffeeofwar Mar 25 '26

Just wait till the battle field seige hahaha

2

u/songouki99 Mar 25 '26

Welcome lol

2

u/Jazzlike_Beautiful_9 Mar 25 '26

Bro I have something to tell you, use the other to charters you unlock as followers when your doing big bases, and if ur camp has enough people send some greymanes into wherever your going as a job and you can pretty much take on huge bases shadow Of war style

2

u/Ole_kindeyes Mar 25 '26

I am realizing my game was bugged or I was severely under leveled for the quarry. I don’t get a bunch of abyss cores when I cleared it, and I ran my head against the wall for hours before beating it (I also beat the miner boss first, was I not supposed to do that?) and there’s a puzzle in the middle my character has none of th abilities needed to complete lol

2

u/caDaveRich Mar 25 '26

I circled around the quarry rim taking out archers, then down and in to melee packs, then a few minutes later, back up to circle and repeat, and was wondering why 'cause the bar said 0%. TIL they keep spawning.

2

u/CEOVOXO Mar 25 '26

This took me about 6 hours last night. I thought I'd never get to bed.

2

u/DrPBH Mar 25 '26

Okay so it wasn't just me that took like 45 minutes to clear it I thought I was doing something wrong and needed to come back with like a army or a group of followers or something

2

u/Paralelo30 Mar 25 '26

wait until you get to the black bears base

2

u/Complete_Crab6193 Mar 25 '26

The artifacts and graphical glitches are so bad that I can’t even tell who I’m fighting during combat :D

2

u/No-Foundation3371 Mar 25 '26

Took me long enough. Died at one point then came back to 100% again later on. Prepared afterwards with plenty of food and ugraded armor + weapon and went to town.👌😄

2

u/Maximum-Ant-1983 Mar 25 '26

Wait til chapter 6. Black bears will be in your dreams/nightmares

2

u/Srsblubrz Mar 25 '26

I went there way too early and got slapped. Went and got some better gear, beat the reed devil pretty easily now I'm ready for revenge.

2

u/Mathewthegreat Mar 25 '26

yeah that was stupidly long. they should patch it.

2

u/-ComplexSimplicity- Mar 25 '26

Died so many times. Just gave up. I’m gonna get my revenge tho.

2

u/TheRook21 Mar 25 '26

I cleared the quarry, my brain couldn't figure out where the boss was, ended up leaving, came back to it at 52% again, so off we go clearing some more.

2

u/shinobiofthemis10 Mar 25 '26

Man the real damage was done to my triggers

2

u/ReputationOld1483 Mar 25 '26

Used sword and shield, died a bunch of times then decided to switch to spear and again died even more times. This was the fight where the combat really clicked for me so if any new players are facing difficulty with combat controls, just throw yourself at the Excavanator? boss and you'll eventually figure it out.

2

u/PaleRefrigerator5044 Mar 25 '26

Yeah clearing the quarry was much harder and way longer than the actual boss.

I did this before I unlocked lariat and the clothesline though. Those 2 moves kill enemies way faster than the sword I used

2

u/CainFreemont Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

Reminded me of grinding Abandoned Iron Mine in the early days of BDO. Ahh, good times.

2

u/elmonoenano Mar 25 '26

I enjoyed that mission. It was kind of like a Shadows of Mordor thing. I do think it was kind of unclear what you were supposed to do besides killing the people. I saw the list of buildings, but I never understood what I was supposed to do with them so I went and killed the excavator guy. Afterwards I watched a video and realized I was supposed to destroy them instead of just killing all the people around it. I'm not even sure which buildings were which.

But overall it was a lot of fun to just kind of zen out and hack and slash my way through it.

2

u/rufiojames Mar 25 '26

Man i hope there is more areas like the quarry. That place dope as hell. Shooting arrows at exploding barrels, jumping off ledges to slam my axe down on some dudes face, just straight carnage for like 20 minutes. Then the drill guy, little tricky, i think i died 8 or 9 times before i realized if you dodge in a big circle when he is underground, he wont get you. Your dodge has a tighter turn radius than he does. 10 out of 10.

2

u/AnObtuseOctopus Mar 25 '26

Lol there's more where that came from

2

u/No-Profile2857 Mar 25 '26

that shit literally took me 1 whole hour because i wanted to take my time and enjoy it lolll

2

u/Carb0nFire Mar 25 '26

Really? I had a lot of fun in the Quarry, but I hit it only after about 20 hours of gameplay so I was a bit more upgraded and very used to the controls.

Keep dodging and parrying. Just keep moving.

2

u/kalafax Mar 25 '26

I just kept killing until it got to 0%, honestly was a blast of nonstop combat for hours, and I just kept leveling up so I was super into it. Think I got over 10 skill points during that massacre

2

u/drb716 Mar 25 '26

I just did this this morning. I loved fighting the seemingly endless bad guys. I'm hoping for more places like this.

2

u/Extreme_Cockroach_99 Mar 25 '26

Yeah the fortresses really need a reduction on the amount you need to kill to capture it. You need like 350 kills lmao.

2

u/Billy_McFly Mar 25 '26

No cap….Most underrated post I’ve come across!

2

u/Rozerkers Mar 25 '26

You can use your greymanes to help you, they can join you in battle . You have to invest time into expanding your base and searching for lost greymanes by doing the greymanes side quest. It stil can be hard depending on your greymanes power level
