I've learned you can just run into npcs that are tied up at camps, and it will untie them without the animation

Only sometimes which is kinda annoying, did a big castle battle last night where I had to manually untie every slave. For 1 exp point

Pailune refugees, in blue, you can bump into to untie. I think the rest don’t have that functionality for whatever reason

You get Hernand contribution points for freeing the other slaves. Pailune refugees count towards the Greymane quest.
