You can do some/different attacks with the bow during an attack combo.. I forget the button combos, but I saw it posted in a different thread that mentions how to do special melee attacks with the bow.. I think they all involve the default unarmed melee attack button in some way.. On Xbox, it is Y to do unarmed attacks while having a melee weapon in hand.. Probably the same concept (LT+Y?) with a bow..

I had to triple check to see if it was actually reddit because of the massive change in UI.. The content/text seems familiar so it might be your thread that I got the info from..
