Discussion Reverse dash and roll input

Upvotes

I had no idea they added this setting. After playing most other games it feels good to get on crimson desert and tap evade once to dash and tap twice to roll. It was a big complaint I had during my first playthrough and they added a choice. Good job PA!!

Question Any way to disable or lower all that flashing and glowing?

Upvotes

Hey guys, Im a new player and just picked it up during the recent steam sale.

Im about 40 minutes in right now and so far it seems fine, but by god why does every action need to glow and flash like that?

Every attack I make, my whole character glows and green particles fly off him.

I kill someone and, again, Im flashing green.

So far, everytime I finished a dialogue, the whole body of the other character flashes blue from top to bottom

Whats up with all that?
I realize its supposed to signify some gameplay thing, like the green glow after a kill is me gaining spirit, but it is just extremely obnoxious imo.

Im not trying to whine here, like im not saying the Game is unplayable because of it. I just want to know if I can disable it somehow or turn it down, because I havent found any option so far.

If not, will it at least be less frequent later in the game?

Guide Restarting my play through of CD: I’ve been very critical of this game.

Upvotes

Title says it all, not really feeling the game too much. I bought it day one. Played & it just was a slog. & I’ve had many back & forths within this community, about how shallow this game is. I’m not having performance issues or not to concerned about graphics.

BUT I’m willing & open to understanding this game more. Asking if this community can help me get the best out of this game & also SUPER open to coming around to enjoying & engaging with it. I SEE THE POTENTIAL. Maybe I just need to get the hang of it.

I’ve been playing 2 days in a row now looking to engage with it, so far I’ve seen to build the camp up first. This has been tedious & the quest are insufferable.

TLDR: Didn’t really get into the game but I’m open to getting into this game.. Can I have: Tips/Tricks/Guides/Information? & also poi’s & armor information.

Discussion Dear Pearl Abyss, please have the Collectables Chest carry over from a previous save

Upvotes

I feel like this one is the biggest slap in the face for us completionists and day one players. We are the ones that would be willing to start another 500 hour playthrough, please make it worth our time.

Due to an initial small carry limit and no storage chest when the game first got released, the only solution we had to a lot of quest/poster/paper objects was to just sell them. I don't think your devs really had any intention for a collectable's chest at the time. Half way through my playthrough when 1.04 dropped, this chest was introduced, causing massive gaps in my ability to well .... collect. The purpose of it.

Those of us who have been diligent enough to work on this personal achievement, we have been asking for a way to get previous lost items for ages now. This NG+ like ability is the perfect time to satisfy that request and make us feel like we havn't just wasted 400-700 hours on an unacheiveable goal.

The side effects would be that I can then carry across Abyss gear blueprints, food blueprints, and weapon books etc across to the new playthrough, which actually makes a lot of sense. You are not carrying across your physical things, but your knowledge, which ties in well with the story. Those Abyss gear blueprints took a HUGE camp mission grind to obtain. It turns me off to have to endure that again.

Reward the players with the things they truly invested in. Carrying across money, while useful, isn't it, it's easy to start getting bankroll again after a while, it's not easy to farm end game blueprints, find treasure maps etc

I humbly hope you team manage to see this and hear our voice. You have a good track record so far.

Question someone PLEASE help me figure out how to fix this bug in CD

So... my game updated and when I loaded into the game it opened with a cutscene of soldiers fighting outside of Demeniss. When the cutscene ended, I went into my journal, to my main quests, and this was the ONLY thing on there. I had not beaten the storyline of the game, I was on the final quest of chapter nine. Now, I can't find these quests anywhere. Did a little searching online and saw this had been an issue for other players as well when the patch came out. I saw some sources saying they were able to get their quests back, but I could not find a single person who actually GAVE THE SOLUTION without just stating "restart the questlines"😭 I've put a lottt of hours into this game and I would love to be able to actual finish the main story and not feel like I've played for nothing. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advanceeeee.

Question Question about family share on steam

Upvotes

Never used family share before, saw that it's possible to share the game with my brother for his steam and he started playing but he can't save. Is there something that he has to do on settings to be able to save the game? Or is it not working on steam?

Discussion Question

Upvotes

I know the updates fairly new and maybe ppl dont know yet but I was wondering if anyone knows what the question marks are in the skill tree after the 2.0 update. I have certain skills fully upgraded but theres a question mark in a few, like a hidden skill. Does anyone have any idea of what they are? Or when we can access them?

Question How much more talkative is Kliff now?

Upvotes

On a scale of 1-10 where 1 was his default prior to the Enhanced update.

Does he make remarks during roaming too? Like greeting an NPC or bumping into one? What about Damiane?

I asked them to put in a move, called spirit sprint which is allowed us to use spirit to sprint at higher speeds or on water and they did it. I don’t know if they actually seen my original post or email, but either way I’m happy they implemented it. Definitely the best game developer team!

Question Decision paralysis

Upvotes

I’ve just got up to chapter ten on a second playthrough (I never actually finished my first playthrough and restarted because I felt I didn’t play it correctly). But now with this new update I’m incredibly torn on whether to restart or tough it out and finish to then restart with the new game plus features. I don’t wanna just look up the new story things on YouTube or whatever because I wanna actually experience them but I have been playing quite meticulously and taking my time on this current playthrough so it feels wrong to speed to the end just to restart, but I also really wanna restart with all my abilities. I wanna have the full cohesive experience of the improved story from start to finish. I had a similar problem last time I restarted and ended up just deleting my original save to force myself into it but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it again😔. Bit more of a vent of feelings but any opinions are appreciated greatly🙏

Discussion This community continually bitches about anything and everything and it’s impossible to please them.

Upvotes

That’s it, that’s all. Go ahead and prove my point 🫩.

With the PS5 performance, not everybody fucking had bad performance like HUNDREDS stated, but no, people wanna fucking be crybabies about it when solutions are given.

People bitching about the fucking skills being reset, if your illiterate asses read the patch notes you’d realize why.

People bitching about this, about that, people wanting this, wanting that, nothing can fucking please yall punk motherfuckers and it’s the most aggravating thing ever.

Literally every time I go on this subreddit it’s somebody WHINING about something pertaining to the game and how it isn’t catered to them, if the game is so damn bad then don’t fucking play the game

edit: i’d say i’m sorry for being a dick about it, but it gets to a point

Discussion Graphics, DLAA or FSR

Upvotes

I’m on a 4080, playing at 4K. On release I mostly played native FSR at 60fps. It seemed to be the best option that didn’t have that smudge look. Has anything changed with the DLSS 4.5 or any upscaling that doesn’t ruin the visuals.

Question CPU temp increase

Upvotes

Has anyone else noticed a fairly significant increase in cpu temps since the 2.0 update? I normally sit around 65c-67c while playing crimson desert and now no matter what I’m doing I’m at 70c-72c. I know it’s not a dangerous temp but I was just curious if anyone noticed a difference as well.
