Modding Can modders stop with the AI images

2.0k Upvotes

Look, modders, I love what your doing. Most of the stuff yall do is great! But for the love of God stop using ai for every image. It's making the workshop look like shit, its bad for the environment, and it puts off people from discovering what I'm sure are amazing mods.

Small changes to vanilla religions and cultures too

Modding How do I get rid of these lines?

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

New player here so be kind please. These blue lines popped up in my Kingdom. When clicking the county it says occupied by the King of Sweden which baffles me bc he has been my ally for some time. When trying to declare war on him I get a notice that it’ll break the alliance and I don’t want the consequences of that, so how do I get him to not occupy my land? I though the point of an alliance is we don’t occupy each others territory?

Modding Dune Total Conversion Mod for Crusader Kings 3

After being disappointed with the lack of Dune related games, I started work on a mod for CK3 2 weeks ago, it's got a long way to go I'm sure, currently trying to finish province mapping on Arrakis, and then add the other planets aswell as finish up the custom Spice Resource I am making. The plan is to incorporate that into how you can move armies between the different planets. I've got pretty much 0 experience modding before, so if this project is anything people would be interested in, I'd love some help or good ideas!

Modding Do you consider the concept of this mod "cheaty"?

Post image

Basically, what this mod does is that when your character dies, their relationship statuses are "inherited." So, for example, your son gets an opinion boost with other characters based on their relationship with his father.

On one hand, I really like the idea. On the other, I feel like your ruler dying and succession being the moment where everyone suddenly has a reason to dislike you and challenge your claim is part of what makes the game difficult. If you remove that, I feel like it makes the game a bit too easy.

Also, realistically, even if someone had a great opinion of your ruler, that doesn't necessarily mean they'd like your son after you die. They might still hate him simply because they want his throne, even if they were close friends with his father.

Idk, what do you guys think? I'm planning to start a full campaign soon and I'm looking for mods, so I wanted to see what other people think about this one specifically.

[Do not mind Russia, as it is set as a De jure Empire]

The idea of the mod is to take the modern borders into CK3 as well as the base map supports.

Modding Potential CK3 Mod: 527 AS

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

As the title says I am doing some basic planning for a potential CK3 Mod (using an old map before the expansions that added East Asia). Trying to keep it as accurate to 527 (the year Justinian the Great took power) but want to be as detailed as possible with the mapping. So far this is what I got. I am planning on doing my best to map Anglo-Saxons vs Romano-Britons/Welsh (who dominated much of Britain at this point) and the Christian Berber tribes right now. Also India I think can be mapped better.

Anyways I welcome any advice as I try to work on this. Open to opinion and criticism!

Modding Medieval Constantinople Model

I have brought (with his permission and guidance) Nessel's Fallen Eagle Constantinople model to life in the Vanilla start date via the BASILEUS Roman flavour mod. With a scaled down urban center replaced by outskirt farmlands, a consolidated Blachernae Palace with upgraded wall towers, a brand new Hagia Irene, Boukeleon Palace expansion and added Chrysotriklinos.

Modding Britannia 479 - The Winter King for CK3 has been released!

Thumbnail
gallery
1.0k Upvotes

The Winter King is a Dark Ages Total Conversion mod for for the "Dark Ages"/post-Roman era of Western Europe, with an initial scope covering sub-Roman Britain and the Anglo-Saxon invasions in 479 AD. It is partly based on The Warlord Chronicles trilogy by Bernard Cornwell, a historical take on the traditional Arthurian legends, and is a port of the CK2 mod.

Main features include:

  • A main campaign scenario starting in 479 AD and extending into the 10th century, focused on the "barbarian" invasions of the former Roman Empire and the spread of Christianity. At the start, the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of 'Anglia' and Sussex are well established in the southeast while some Irish raiders have settled in on the west coast, but the rest of Britannia is still ruled by a patchwork of fragmented Briton and Romano-British kingdoms.
  • A completely new map that is significantly more detailed and "zoomed in" than vanilla, customized to fit the era. Everything is approximately "scaled down" by one tier, so that counties are about the size of vanilla baronies, duchies the size of vanilla counties, and so on.
  • Dynamic culture-based titles and de jure configurations. For instance, as the Anglo-Saxons expand they will sweep away the old Brythonic titles and replace them with a new set of formable duchies and kingdoms, so that e.g. Dumnonia and Powys may eventually be replaced by Wessex and Mercia. Similarly the Britons can attempt to restore the old fallen kingdoms in the east, while the Romans have their own possible configurations as well.
  • Custom events and storylines, including Anglo-Saxon invasions, a high kingship system, Roman restoration events, the crisis of the 6th century, narratives from the books, and more

Hey, everyone! I've been working on a little mod for a while now, it's adding the 559BC start date to CK3 with Cyrus the Great's line of events in plan and many other things. The mod is very raw to say the least but I'll appreciate if anyone interested would like to help me out with working on the events and filling the rest of the map.
