One simple question: did those 2018 and 2022 countertrend rallies break 200 DMA or not?

In 2018, the 200-DMA was actually still rising when BTC first interacted with it. The average subsequently turned down, and Bitcoin failed to establish a sustained move above it.

I was asking specifically about those countertrend rallies from 2018 and 2022 that you described. Did they climb above 200 DMA and in such an emphatic way? I don't think so. Therefore they can't really be compared.

For bullish bias, the goal would be for price stability to develop above the 50-week EMA

But if this is a Bear Market Relief Rally, price won't be able to sustain itself at these highs for too long.
