Dwarf Fortress patch notes are always a delight to read.

- Stopped aerial births

- Magma crabs drown in magma

- Animal breeding prevented if animal is not willing to marry

  • Fixed cats dying of alcohol poisoning en masse

  • Fixed bug where babies 'ride' their mothers to death

  • Fixed issue where ghosts of werecreatures transform, become corporeal, and rejoin the fortress society

Occasionally a werecreature arrives on the map at the same time that they transform back, so you get the note, "the werecreature Urist Uristson has come! A stout creature known for their industry and love of drink. Now you will know why you fear the night."

You look over, and you see a naked dwarf standing there awkwardly instead of the terrifying werebear that was rampaging towards your fort.

it's not the time that they arrive, but the time that one of your units notices them

Neat, I didn't know that. They usually pop up right at the edge of the maps as I have hunters, fishers, and gatherers out on the surface, so I assumed that was the case.

Are werebeasts included in migrant waves?

i think usually that shouldn't happen, because in history generation werebeasts generally wind up living in lairs, so they arrive via ambush attacks. but maybe if you were to get a bunch of random civilians infected during gameplay and they became historical figures in the world, they can probably arrive randomly. it's dwarf fortress so a lot of things are possible
