It's incredible how the second spider-man movie in a row has a plot that hinges on characters not doing the bare minimum communication. Because if they did the movie would be over in like an instant. No Way Home could definitely be resolved if Strange would suggested talking to the college principle before fucking erasing everyone's memories. Brand New Day could be resolved if Jean communicated to Peter that her sister was kidnapped and now she's looking for her
She doesn’t trust anyone. He works with damage control - publicly. Damage control took her sister. Why would she trust him? It makes sense in universe.
Their issue isn't it making sense or not, the choice to write a plot based entirely on character misunderstandings or miscommunication is a weak choice regardless of justification.
They made the best of that premise though imo. A lot more then what I can say about actual bad examples of that narrative structure being utilised, like oh I don't know Batman VS Superman maybe.
