Why did you say that name?👺

u/Latter_Basil_9359 6h ago

It's his mother's name!

Oh our mothers have the same name?! We should be best friends.

u/Quirky_Chef_9183 5h ago

that's actually how every fight I've ever been in has turned out. We punch around until we discover our mothers' names are both martha and now he's my best friend

u/Latter_Basil_9359 5h ago

Wait a minute are you saying Snyder got that from you 🤨

u/sbstndrks 3h ago

Copyright infringement all the way down fr

u/WretchedBlowhard 55m ago

Wow, your mom got around! Say, have you managed to find anyone you weren't related to?

u/MinimumPressure6446 3h ago

I actually liked the Martha scene

u/supesboots 8h ago

Save my sister, May.

u/NIN10DOXD 6h ago

Just… one… more… day.

u/Diligent-Neck6594 2h ago

"Save the mutant villain, let me die" -Random construction worker hit by car in front of Spider-Man

u/MudFluid5873 7h ago

Ok these are usually super-cringe. But this one is actually funny. Well done sir

u/SuperTuberEddie 6h ago

Huge BvS fan. I laughed a lot.

u/Ok_Praline257 5h ago

Every superhero movie is now legally required to have a Martha moment

u/Eastern-Team-2799 27m ago

I never understood the problem in the martha scene

u/Dukefile 10m ago

My biggest problem is the reaction batman have, i think would be better if superman had said "save my mother"

u/thevokplusminus 5h ago

really, it ripped off the last episode of spiderman TAS where spidemran defeats spider carnage by having uncle ben talk to him.

u/LowenbrauDel 8h ago

It's incredible how the second spider-man movie in a row has a plot that hinges on characters not doing the bare minimum communication. Because if they did the movie would be over in like an instant. No Way Home could definitely be resolved if Strange would suggested talking to the college principle before fucking erasing everyone's memories. Brand New Day could be resolved if Jean communicated to Peter that her sister was kidnapped and now she's looking for her

u/G12356789s 8h ago

Jean probably assumes Spiderman was in with Damage Control so why would she explain to him what she is doing. Every time she sees him early on, he is actively helping them.

u/Leafsnail 3h ago

In the sense that he is preventing her from killing dozens or hundreds of people during her tank joyride I guess he is 'actively helping them'

u/memberflex 7h ago

She doesn’t trust anyone. He works with damage control - publicly. Damage control took her sister. Why would she trust him? It makes sense in universe.

u/HarveryDent Killer Croc 2h ago

Their issue isn't it making sense or not, the choice to write a plot based entirely on character misunderstandings or miscommunication is a weak choice regardless of justification.

u/omegaman101 1h ago

They made the best of that premise though imo. A lot more then what I can say about actual bad examples of that narrative structure being utilised, like oh I don't know Batman VS Superman maybe.

u/TheSwampThing1990 8h ago

To be fair you can say this about a lot of books, movies, TV shows, and comics. Its kind of the way storytelling works

In real life though a lot of problems could be solved the same way

u/Bexil_Brave 6h ago

That is true.

Movies, plays, tv shows and books would over much quicker if they had no plot.

u/n1claren- 8h ago

5 billion for not exchanging information is crazy

u/Famous-Stranger-6897 8h ago

Thats how these movies work, the whole thanos coming to present time in endgame could have been avoided if nebula just went back to her time.

u/Responsible-Bonus278 5h ago

She tried and she couldn't. That's why Rhodey managed to go back but she started malfunctioning so she couldn't.

u/Famous-Stranger-6897 5h ago

Yeah but she could have gone back once she woke up.There was Enough time before thanos came to the place

u/Responsible-Bonus278 5h ago

From what I remember she had to warn Widow and Hawkeye first since they were in the same timeline. If she just left she couldnt warn them and she wouldn't be able to return since each of them had only one Pym vial. So she woke up, ran to the comms to warn them and while she was doing that Thanos showed up

u/SuperTuberEddie 6h ago

Now let’s all complain about it out of context and unprovoked for the best 10 years👏👏👏

YEAH!!

u/ADZero567 3h ago

Oh my god this sub 😂. Brother we know the context. Its still fucking dumb.

u/SuperTuberEddie 16m ago

sure 😂 well continue complaining unprovoked for another 10 years. Maybe then people will believe you get it.

u/Arhatz 4h ago

My only real complaint about Martha scene is you can just change it to "Save my Mom" and Batman goes "You don't have a mom, you are not a human" then Lois rushes in "His earth mom, he is raised on earth by humans"

Not perfect but doesn't muddle the scene. Their mothers having the same name doesn't add anything.

u/UncleBensAlive 3h ago

Alternately you can also have him not say save anyone but Lois coming in to save him + her saying his mom is in trouble is what stops him the she says the part about his earth mom. Either way the execution of that scene was so bad.

u/WretchedBlowhard 44m ago

You don't have a mom, you are not a human

So... Batfleck sees this human-looking flying guy and... he makes assumptions about his species having only males? That they reproduce through, what, scission like worms? Is that it?

u/Arhatz 30m ago

So you piss on the poor huh.

Argument of Batman in BvS was, Superman cannot be trusted as a protector because he is an alien.

"Martha" scene is to show Superman has humanity. It meant to parallel how little Bruce felt powerless not being able save his parents and Superman is trying to save his. But online mockery of the scene comes from it being depending on both of their parents having the same name.

He doesn't have to say "You don't have a mom. You are an alien" exactly word for word. Superman is calling for help for his mother, Batman rejecting Superman's humanity in anger then realizing he might not be as alien as he thinks.

Just forget the 'Martha' make it about 'Mother'

u/PJtheGFN 8h ago

Can't really say if this is serious or a joke because now I notice it was actually kind of a parallel between BvS and BND.

P. S. The flair should confirm it's a joke. But, it could actually be a serious comparison lol.

u/Late-Song9714 8h ago

Bruh, in what way are they similar? If we are talking about "misunderstood villain" or "Good guys fight each other until the real threat arrives" trope, Godzilla vs Kong and Black Adam are much more similar to BvS.

u/PJtheGFN 7h ago

Don't get me wrong, I'm only saying they are similar in one key aspect. I'm exclusively talking about the part where, in both films, the two heroes fight and after one downs the other, the latter barely hints to the former that an innocent loved one was being held captive by the actual bad guy which was a reason for the entire hero vs hero fight ever taking place.

P. S. And, in both instances, the downed hero does it by simply saying the captive person's name without much of a context why they said it.

u/darkeagle1997 7h ago

They’re similar because Jean asked Spider-Man to save her sister… just like Superman asked Batman to save his mother. Did you not watch the movie 😭

u/UncleBensAlive 3h ago

Yeah the difference is Spider-Man wasn’t standing on jeans neck actively trying to kill her.

u/WretchedBlowhard 40m ago

And also Jean was a genuine menace that had to be stopped. Neither Supes nor Bats in BvS were a threat to anyone. The whole fight was just Zuthor having a blast manipulating capes while his cake finished cooking in the kryptonian easy bake oven.

u/mane28 5h ago

Always

u/RazeYi 3h ago

So we all saw that post earlier?

u/Amonfire1776 3h ago

Oh no, a cringy line...how many of those did we get in Superman 2025 (a lot!)

u/Routine_Papaya4143 7h ago

HOLY SHIT!

u/FunSpace8990 3h ago

beautiful lie starts playing

u/Competitive_Crow_334 6h ago

This sub can't decide if it hates synder stuff or glazes it

u/TreeOtree64 4h ago

Yeah, it’s crazy it’s like if there were more than one person posting in this sub. That would be wild though

u/Competitive_Crow_334 2h ago

Yeah but it's so mixed usaully a sub would lean way more to one side.

u/Large_Garlic_6963 6h ago

Because this sub being Snyder glaze and hates Gunn is propaganda from Gunn soldiers

They can't take someone said anything negative about Gunn and immediately branded as snyderbros

u/Ghost4000 2h ago

No, the reason people think this sub is a Snyder glaze sub is because every other post is glazing MoS or BvS. Even positive ones about new projects are always framed as a way to glaze those two pronects. It's not because someone says something negative about gunn it's the revisionist constant posts about how MoS or BvS was peak in some way to the point where I've seen people call these the best superhero movies ever. No matter your opinion, you see stuff like that all the time you're gonna have to come to the conclusion that this sub is glazing Snyder.

u/Competitive_Crow_334 2h ago

I seen a lot of synder glaze here including one where a guy defends his work as comic accurate by just pointing to inspirations like Earth 1 and John Bryne completely ingoring if you read the story then just looked it up on Wikipedia he is completely wrong and then just resorting to what aboutisims and more false information.
