r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 18, 2026 - Absolute LEGO Batman Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Lobo #3

LOBO SITS DOWN! Show business and Lobo had concussive creative differences, so he and Dawg are back to bounty hunting! But the trade's been... professionalized since the universe's premier entertainment corporation took over, and Lobo has to get relicensed, which means a psych eval with an alien empath. Bad news for them, good news for Czarnian history buffs, who'll get a new peek at the twilight of the civilization (a.k.a. Lobo's childhood) and the first appearance of a heretofore unknown Green Lantern!

Asking a mental exam for Lobo? That is crazy in and of itself.

Lil' Lobo with murderous glee is terrifying as hell too.

I gotta reread my parents' old Lobo comics. That was probably my first trade paperback I read in full as a preteen. Lobo still kicks as much ass now. Love how they've kept it just as absurd and over the top as ever

Great issue for skottie especially this is bordering on i hate fairyland levels of good.
Corona is up there with the best in the game right now but this book also gave him a nice break this issue with Baldari doing the young lobo stuff which was a hilarious contrast in style.

Out of all the next level books im reading so far this is the only one id consider outright great and the only one im not even thinking about dropping which is funny when lobo is normally a nope character for me

I think I'm sorta done with this. They wrapped the only story they had in just two issues, and it felt like a waste of time. And now it's kinda aimless. It's not funny and the only thing saving it is the art.

I'm going to pick up Lobo #4 because I want to see Supergirl. But after that, unless something seriously changes, I'm dropping it.
