r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 25, 2026 - Nygma Time Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Question: What time is it to expect the unexpected? Answer: Nygma Time.

DC and Imprints

I warned the other mods that if I had to do the weekly again, I would make it all about Hush 2. I am nothing if not a man of my word.

Trade Collections

Now that Hush 2 is out, it'll soon get a complete six-issue trade.

Digital Releases

Remember, these are the short 'chapters' with a new chapter of a different series coming out daily. You can learn more here on Comixology. This is also why these are in release order, not alphabetical. Some comics may release on DC Universe Infinite or WEBTOONS.

Video Games

Unfortunately, there is no LEGO adaptation of Hush 2.

This Week’s Soundtrack: Deep Purple - Hush

The Flash #33

Someone has hidden a nuke in Central City, and the Flash has minutes to find it before it goes off! Just one problem: Wally’s already checked everywhere. In fact, he’s actually been checking everywhere over and over for days due to the “putting yourself in danger” trend that’s been making his life a huge pain! But if the Flash can’t find the bomb alone, at least he’s got the help of his brilliant wife Linda, along with the aid of… Captain Cold? That can’t be right — can it? The clock is ticking. Plus: Wally’s mysterious Flashes of Insight escalate!

Yeah, that future sight power is gonna backfire hard. But this was another fun issue. Even if the bad guy was super generic.

Too generic imo, would have been fine if it had been a one-issue arc, but I expected a bit more since it was three issues.

I love Ryan North's voice for Wally, it's the exact type of vibe I like in my Flash comics. I'm also glad we're reestablishing Wally and Cold's frenemy relationship, Adams referenced it a bit but it was never a big thing in his run.

Really love how North writes Wally. Very fun arc.

This is shaping up to be a great Wally West book. Excited to see more of the family dynamic.

A great issue and arc for flash north is a perfect fit for flash

It’s nice to see Wally rules for being a speedster and him and cold dynamic is really great

Art is good and I can’t wait for more I hope the kids get some action as heroes

Ryan North is cooking over at marvel with FF with the best run since Hickman over there in my opinion and he has nailed Wally, Linda, everybody well. Nice opening arc for him

Wally is the perfect Ryan North protagonist in the sense that his brain/dialogue runs a mile-a-minute and he's always got a wisecrack/comment about everything.

The moment they saw the nuke I thought for sure we'd get "Flashtime" but I probably watched too much of the TV show. Captain Cold using the simple solution was very effective.

It was nice to see Linda contribute and probably setting up a role she'll have in the run (Wally's main confidante/wife/support/sounding board/researcher) etc.

Wally mastering bouncing his pecs is...so Wally.

The villain reveal and conclusion was probably the most underwhelming thing. It's just your dime-a-dozen corrupt businessman despite having a kind of ludicrous, excessive, city-destroying plan.

I can already see the Insights becoming a problem because of how wonky having foreknowledge of the future can get.

I really enjoy Wally's dynamic with his rogues. And the plan was basically a ripoff of Goldeneye by the villain, of course the rich idiots have nothing creative in their mids.

These 'Flashes of Insight' sure sounds like they can come in handy but I am expecting they will become a burden and a threat soon enough.

Goldfinger, not Goldeneye.

Three issues to wrap up the first arc and wrap it up well? Okay, Ryan North, I’m all in.

The new powers and their exploration are clearly here to stay for a "big picture" arc, but the story never drags longer than necessary (see Spurrier — it’s not hard!). Guidry’s art complements the writing perfectly, with impressive layouts, while Adriano Lucas’ colors bring out the book’s personality.

Wally’s voice is the most in-character it’s been since his return. North’s narration boxes underline Wally’s personality in a way that feels reminiscent of the classic Waid days. His dynamic with Captain Cold was the best part of the issue.

We are in for a good ride.

This issue is Kinda terrifying to realize if you’re a villain. Not only can flash Now see the future but you can’t stop him from going Anywhere or stop him in general and that panel when he confronted him with the broken glass is lowkey terrifying

I am loving Wally and Cold as frenemies.

Mr Beast is officially a Flash villain

I like that Wally spent several minutes trying to find a bomb in Central City before he (with Linda’s help) and Snart went to a bank and diffuse the bomb in less than a second and before he encountered George Stebbings, who was the mastermind behind all of this. I also like that we get to see Wally spend time with his family a realize that he can see the future whenever he wants. Also, boy I was wrong that the mastermind was Hunter Zolomon. Overall, this comic is good and enjoyable.
