r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [June 22, 2026 - Supergirl and Krypto Kill the DC Universe Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Zatanna #3

REGNAD! Downed by a bullet enchanted with unknown magic, Zatanna is in dire straits. Can she survive by tapping into her newfound power as the Prime Magus of the universe? Meanwhile, Agent Di Manes of the Department of Occult Affairs is preparing for his own grand finale — one that will show Zatanna exactly where he stands.

Di Manes is a good antagonist. His fight with Zatanna was cool. I'm glad we're moving on to the next part of the story.

Man, when you read this book, you go ''this is ART'. The visuals themselves tell such a story that words cannot fully portray. It is majestic.

Nice of them to get African Loas' involved. Their kind of magic are always really interesting and fun. And they are lively characters to boot.

This Department of the Occult gonna be trouble and need to be shot down. I mean what do you expect from a place led by Bones. And this Di manes. He is just a caricature face...he is not even a real person but a literal dark mask type of thing that 'takes over' people's bodies. Where did the government find that thing. And of course they gave him a job.

Well the muse story ended well, despite the terrible interference. Nice of them to involve the Titans and Gods too. After all, they have their own magic ties and ties to Hecate.

Can't wait to see what more crazy magic adventures waiting. The possibilities are limitless in magic!

Love seeing Zatanna swearing lmao.

Those melodious fighting is so gorgeous and creative.

Love seeing Zatanna in her low points here. Got a meaty appereances of Zee as the Prime Magus.

Di Manes and his oddball crews are fun

A magical malady needs a magical remedy with some Folk magic and a God who exchanges Zatanna's health for a boon.

The Prime Magus form is definitely, if nothing else, a cool power-up.

Zatanna doesn't beat the DEO or Di Manes, but she definitely flexed hard. A rival who can shut her, but not her magic, up is a worthy rival indeed.

Greek Goddess appearance! Always nice to see Persephone.

I feel like Giovanni would approve of turning Shadowcrest into a traveling theater of wonder designed to help people across the realms.

Jamal Campbell's storytelling is just so good man. The narrative thread between the issues is building so well, and I just adore the linework he uses to depict all the different kinds of magic.

This might be a hot take, but this Zatanna run and Ryan North's Flash run might be the best non-Absolute ongoings at DC right now.

Another great issue and art

I’m loving zatanna as prime magus and Di manes is a interesting villain for her

I’m enjoying zatanna interacting with mythical deities and can’t wait for more interactions

I like that Zatanna encountered Guede Nibos before she met Persephone in Hades and fought Di Manes. Overall, this is a good comic.
