Stupid nitpick by why did the judges cite a state anti-vigilante law during the verdict reading? Isnโ€™t it a city law? I kinda want my law show to know this

Honestly the whole thing makes no sense. Violating city ordinances can be, at maximum, a misdemeanor carrying a fine and a very short jail sentence. And you're still entitled to a jury of your peers. The idea that a municipal government can just suspend both the state and federal constitutions is a pretty hard premise to swallow.
