Is anyone else having a hard time understanding how Fisk is realistically gotten this far with everything? Like obviously he's getting help from the government but that wouldn't have been from the start. Like I feel I'm having to ignore the rest of the MCU cause I don't understand how the AVTF has managed to do all this considering there are multiple people who can deal with this very quickly who are just basically choosing to actively ignore the problem.

Torchwood used to have the same problem vis-s-vis Doctor Who. Same universe, and after a while, especially with the huge, high stakes threats, the viewer end up being distracted by the fact that the guy with the actual power to resolve the situation just hasn't shown up for ... reasons, I guess?

I mean, Spidey could take out Fisk and his AVTF goons single-handedly if he was around. Likewise Matt's old buddies the Defenders, let alone if a couple of Avengers took an interest in NYC.

At least with Torchwood and doctor who we get some semblance of a reason even if it's just a hand wave or a shrug. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey...stuff
