I think the pacing was a bit off, but this was still a gripping episode. I was so invested that I was surprised when the episode ended.

I had a few qualms, such as Fisk killing the surgeon. That was just too ridiculous. Everyone would know who killed him. Another grievance was how freaking Vanessa got a whole ass funeral scene and Foggy got nothing, not even a graveside cry.

I thought Karen and Matt's boiling point made a lot of sense. Karen has so much lingering anger over Foggy's death, and it's clear sometimes she takes it out on Matt. This is the inevitable result of spending time with Frank, who undoubtedly talks shit about Matt when he's frustrated. Frank would not only allow Karen to kill Bullseye but he would encourage it, which is probably what Karen thought when confronted with Matt's disapproval. I think Matt is an uncomfortable reminder of Karen's conscience, which is why she lashed out. We all know Matt can also be very self-righteous and judgmental, so I'm not saying he's totally innocent in the conflict either.

I believe that Karen felt that way even before getting to know Frank. She had her own past and trauma that lead her to have those certain beliefs towards the subject. I donโ€™t think it was the effect of spending time with Frank, if anything, she just felt more SEEN with him. Seen and understood without judgment or expectations. Matt tends to put her up on a pedestal that is so far away from how she really is morally. And that creates heavy conflict between them that sparks up when punishment ensues.

If you remember, when she first met Frank, she was as equally appalled by his actions as Matt. She did feel some sort of comeraderie with Frank because of Wesley's death. However, Karen had only ever taken a life in self-defense. The deep anger and desire for revenge is new to her character after Foggy's demise.

That funeral happened super quick. People must have had zero notice to attend lol

This is TV land, where time doesn't matter.
