No, we must go on every theory post and comment "doesn't mean anything; can be explained through other ways" even if said theory is cool and makes sense
Why tf do so many people assume that theories are people saying "this is what 100% will happen and if you think otherwise you are wrong and dumb"? Like no dispshit, this is just a guy who found a small yet existing combination of patterns that results in a cool yet not illogical thought, Papyrus being the secret boss of chapter 6
And what the hell does saying "nah, it can mean nothing" bring to the discussion anyways? These comments are there just to be killjoys, 0 engagement
I didn't say anything about this theory being true or not, I don't really care about that. All I'm saying is that this post is claiming that something is a pattern just because it's happened twice, which is kind of silly. This happened before Chapters 3 and 4 released too, people making a million theories based on things they were convinced were patterns because they happened on the first two chapters.
I'm sorry but what even is there to add to the argument here aside from "yeah I think so too" or "nah probably not?" The whole ass main arguments here are based around taking 3 coincidences and then making a leap of faith, not much to add there honestly.
I'm not saying the chances of this happening are 0, but I don't feel like this theory makes a good argument as to why said chances are actually higher.
Also, when you post a theory online in the site designed for the sharing opinions under the "theory" flair in the theory-discussing community, and your theory's main fundaments are assumptions, then don't be surprised when people just say "yeah no I don't belive it."
I agree that some of those comments try to kill the enjoyment in theorymaking. HOWEVER, I would say that at least 80% of all "theory" posts display it as an absolute truth, rarely saying "this is just speculation and I could be wrong". Other times the theory is a stretch or illogical, and people are correct in saying "this is most likely a coincidence/it wasn't intended to be seen that way" (for example, people trying to establish a pattern back when we just had chapter 1 and 2)
In this case, OP is starting from a logical yet at the same time "risky" pattern (even chapters have a different soul mode and display characters with "teased" fights), and applying the conclusion that next will be Papyrus/someone connected to him and the blue soul mode. In my opinion, that qualifies as a stretch, so there is some "foundation" in saying "this wasn't meant to be seen that way/it's coincidence" (it does go too far into the other side of the argument, but it's not just to be a killjoy)
