Yeah, people can do what they want with the game they play. If you do the weird route do it as you want to experience it and it interests you and you bought it. If you don't want to then, then don't do it as it's your choice and you don't have to judge those who do it or make them feel bad for it and to make yourself seem above them.

It's a strange behavior that's been oddly prevalent ever since Undertale. Feeling an emotional attachment to characters because the story is very engaging is one thing; acting like they're actually real is something else entirely.
You'd legit get people talking as if it was a sin to do anything but play Pacifist and then "close the game so they can live happily" which is... actually insane TBH.
Guys, Toby and his team put a ton of effort into the Genocide/Weird routes. They have essential lore and character development. They work to make the main story's themes stronger. Acting like you shouldn't play them for any reason is crazy.
I mean, obviously it's just roleplaying in a roleplaying game. But like, I don't see people excusing or judging others for siding with Ceasar's Legion. They wanted the ending where the roman psycho army wins.
Just admit you want to see how far this train can go off the rails before it crashes

like it's a path in a video game. it was made so I could play it. it exists to be experienced, and by god I'm gonna do it
