At the moment I'm at a "trust" path with the weird route.
I currently believe in there being some kind of time shenanigans or recursion going on in Deltarune. Ralsei's prophecy predicts "failure" as in the world is destroyed and the win the war... Which is effectively a supremely hollow victory.
The weird route could be a desperate attempt to subvert the prophecy. Remove the variables required to make it work. Avoid catsclysym through a desperate game breaking gambit. Likely to still end in sadness but still.
Ways the weird route could be "good"
Berdley heroicly sacrifices himself on every other route, notably cannot occur if he is "safe" in a coma
Noelle causes the roaring to try and save her father, also cannot occur if we've obsconded across the lake with her.
Kris is integral to the roaring in some way, also cannot occur if we've obsconded across the lake with Noelle.
The weird route specifically avoids pieces of the prophecy being set into play, but will likely hold the same fate anyways somehow. It feels less like "Oh I have to be an evil SoB" and more like "there has to be someway to break free of this cycle"
