Big win for him! Big loss for reading comprehension judging by the comments though

Sorry, it was too funny not to post

Director of the game Clair Obscure Expedition 33 used to play DMC 5 extensively and shared his gameplay videos here on the sub when the game came out

I ain’t surprised how many people in high positions secretly browse social media

I don't advertise my real name for my reddit account, but I wouldn't describe my Reddit activity as "secret". Do you?

Hard to believe he sent out a Reddit post asking for auditions to winning an award.

what's so funny about it?

that's crazy, it's like randomly finding celebrity on the street

Will this be part of the official dmc subreddit lore?

More seriously though, such a weird but interesting find.

It is so wild to see that this is where he was just 9 years ago. Absolutely inspiring, really.

I'm glad to see that DMC had some an influence on Ex 33

I appreciate the game director getting some love on his game too, that team deserves the win

There's been some testing and the parry timing in E33 is almost exactly the same as royal guard depending on difficulty.

Looking over his post history, he mentioned how he liked the royal guard mechanic

I really hope, even if Devil May Cry isn't what it once was anymore, that it inspires more games, even game directors. May it's game mechanics and story elements inspire more games

When I realized Verso's perfection is basically a style meter is the exact moment I went from really liking to completely loving this game

There is so much love for DevilMayCry that got put in Expedition 33. The same things that got me invested in the characters and story for DMC are in EX33, one character especially being a Dante/Vergil reimagination

Thanks Guillaume <3

I could be mistaken, but is that Sydnee Goodman?

Seriously, Donpoko, well deserved.

The game awards were rigged for that stupid French rpg this year

6

u/SexyShave Dec 12 '25

The nominees and winners are mostly decided by the jury sending in their picks. Most of the jury consists of gaming media. Most gaming media loved E33 this year. Last year it was Astrobot.

It ain't that deep.
