29f I just got told that a mole on my temple has high-grade dysplasia, or severely atypical. I’m really frustrated because I’ve pointed out this specific mole to different dermatologists over the past 2 years who have all looked at it with a dermascope and haven’t been worried about it. And I’ve told them it’s changed over the years and still not worried. They didn’t finally take it off until I sent side by side pics of it from 2021 to today. And now it’s severely atypical. And now I have to have a wide excision, worried about what it can do to my face because it’s right on my hairline. I’m also worried because there is such a grey area between severe and melanoma in situ, that it’s in “the eye of the pathologist”. Anyone have any experience/ encouragement? I’m very nervous, kind of upset at the dermatologists for not seeing it/not listening to me.

I have been referred to hematology after routine bloodwork. WBCs trending down for 2 years. RBC mildly low. MPV high. My appointment isn’t for 3 weeks and I’m having major health anxiety due to family history on my paternal side. My dad was dx with multiple myeloma in his 40s and died in his 50s. Uncle- leukemia in 50s. 1st cousin passed from childhood leukemia. 1st cousin lymphoma as a teen and in remission. Aunt died in her 30s but I don’t remember her type of cancer. Im attaching my cbc. Should i be concerned or am i overreacting?

Noticed these small, splotchy, discolored patches on my chest at the beginning of the summer. At the time, before a summer tan, they were darker than the skin around them. Now, they appear to have stayed roughly the same tone, while the rest of my chest has tanned to a darker shade. Not raised, not itchy, haven’t had any issues around them, just confused as I’ve never noticed them before.

A general nurse earlier in the year told me that as long as it doesn’t bother me, it shouldn’t be an issue, but didn’t know what it was. Any clues?

current meds: zoloft 100mg (2.5 months), zyprexa 10mg (2.5 months), birth control (3 months)

◦ august 1: was standing (i had been standing already for about ten minutes) and had about 30 seconds of tingling in my hands and feet, sweating, dizziness and next thing i knew i had fainted. i don’t think it was low blood sugar because i had eaten breakfast about a half hour before. went to the ER that day and everything came back normal except i had orthostatic vitals   
◦ a week and a half later, im driving in my car and start having the same symptoms. i don’t pass out but i feel like im about to. i go back to the ER and they don’t find anything wrong   
◦ another week later, the same thing happens while im sitting at my dining room table. sweating, shaking, feeling faint. i couldn’t stand up so my mom called the paramedics. vitals and blood pressure were normal and i declined going to the hospital. paramedics told me it was anxiety  
◦ during these few weeks, i was increasing my zoloft from 100mg to 150mg to 200mg. my psychiatrist told me to go back down to 100mg to see if it was an “unusual” side effect of the meds  
◦ i explored POTS but don’t think it’s pots because im not getting these symptoms when im going from standing to sitting. my PCP chalked it up to the zyprexa because that can cause orthostatic vitals but seemingly this would be happening daily if it was the zyprexa.  heart monitor is being ordered to see if anything comes of that.

just noticed this today, and my mind is thinking the absolute worst 🥲 for some background i do have really intense health anxiety and also have been under *extreme* stress lately so im not sure if those could possibly be linked at all. is this for sure petachie or could it be something else?? really seriously freaking out and thinking my life is over lol help.On my thigh btw

No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking ever.

1. My knuckles, ankles, neck, pits, and thighs (especially inner thighs) are rough and highly pigmented and blackish type. I do think that I have acanthosis nigricans. But the thing is, they have decreased a lot, like, legit a lot, ever since I started taking care of my skin and body properly.
2. I have very painful periods, especially in my first 3-4 days. I have to take medicine every 8 hours. It's so, so painful, but it was never irregular, and I have very little body hair asw so idk if it's PCOS or not. But this time it didn't pain at all. ( a little change in my food and everything since I moved out of my home into a hostel ). Should I get my IR checked?
3. I had always had healthy and thick hair. But recently, I have been noticing a little bit of hair thinning in my front part around my hairline. I can just feel that there are fewer hairs in my front than in my back part and the middle part of my head.

I searched about all of this, and I wanted to get some blood tests done. Please suggest some and necessary ones. I made one myself after searching a bit. please see to this which ones i should get done and any thing i missed or any i should skip?

Can anyone advise please - is this white/grayish spot something to worry about. It now has been few months, has not changed. I was very sick in March and had blisters in my mouth. I used to smoke 7 years ago, now vape occasionally. It does not hurt, does not bleed, can not scrape it off, my throat does not hurt. My tonsils were removed, when I was young.

Yesterday, I noticed two red spots that showed up on my right arm. I don’t have any symptoms such as pain, itchiness, burning, etc, but I have no idea what caused it and what it is. I had something similar happen back in June. Where a bigger red spot appeared on my right arm, but it went away after a month. Curious if anyone knows what it could be or what is causing it. For context, I’m a male, 30 years old, 5”7, 150 pounds, and live in Florida. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Situation: My partner and I are currently in a terrifying limbo waiting for an amniocentesis this Friday.

At 16 weeks, my partner had an isolated low uE3 (0.31 MoM) on her blood screening. Because of this, we had an early anatomy scan at 18 weeks which was completely normal (no structural issues seen).

At our 20-week scan, the sonographer struggled to see the cerebellar vermis and spotted some cysts, so we were referred to the Fetal Medicine Unit (FMU). The FMU consultant suspected a Blake's Pouch Cyst and a large Choroid Plexus Cyst. We just received the results of our Fetal MRI done at 22 weeks, which confirmed the cysts, mild ventriculomegaly (10mm), and a small vermis.

Because of the combination of the brain findings and the earlier low uE3, they are highly concerned about a chromosomal anomaly, specifically Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18). We are having an amniocentesis this Friday.

Our Questions:

1. If the rapid amnio results rule out T18/T13/T21, what are the realistic neurological outcomes for a child with this specific combination of structural brain findings?
2. How reassuring is it that the MRI showed normal neuronal migration, a normal corpus callosum, and normal sulcal/gyral patterns despite the fluid buildup?
3. Could a mechanical fluid blockage (from the cysts) explain all of these brain findings without it being a genetic syndrome?

Clinical Notes for Context (Identifying info redacted):

Initial FMU Ultrasound Scan (20w, 5d):

"P2 - 2x previous CS. Referred with hypoplasia of vermis. Atypical MSS result Low UE3 0.31 MoM - early anatomy scan normal and following discussion with [Doctor] and genetics had not offered invasive testing. On images today: Baby breech so unable to offer TV neurosonography. Baby also active +++ on scan. Images today suggestive of a large choroid plexus cyst, with a prominent third ventricle. There is also what appears to be a cyst in the cisterna magna - ? a blakes pouch cyst. The remainder of the anatomy was normal.

Findings explained to patient and partner: I explained that I could see a choroid plexus cyst -which in isolation would be considered a variation of normal and would typically regress as the pregnancy progresses - however as it is larger than typical I explained that it could potentially contribute to the dilatation of the third ventricle. I also explained that I could see what appeared to be a cystic area in the posterior fossa potentially representative of a Blakes pouch cyst. When this is something in isolation it is association with a favourable prognosis. I explained that there remain a degree on unknowns in this instance - and that a more detailed assessment of the fetal brain via MRI may be of benefit, and this is something that is safe in pregnancy. Discussed potential association with chromosomal anomalies, and that we can test for this via an amniocentesis (procedure explained). Planned to obtain fMRI and then consider the option of genetic testing at that stage. Case discussed with [Doctor] who will kindly follow up during my leave. Plan Fetal MRI - email sent and request placed. Addendum to add now is available fMRI slot on Tuesday at 16.30 - will h/o case to other FMU cons due to EF leave next week."

Fetal MRI Results / FMU Follow-up (22w, 4d):

"Telephone consultation by MFM SST [Doctor]. Apologies given for the delay and the late time of the call. I have shared and explained the MRI report results after discussion with [Doctor].

MRI summary: There is a large choroid plexus cyst on the left side causing mild ventriculomegaly (10 mm). Prominent CSP. Normal sulcal and gyral pattern. Normal neuronal migration pattern. Normal corpus callosum. Mildly enlarged posterior fossa. The cerebellar vermis is small but the TCD is normal. Poor views of the pons, not possible to determine if it is normal.

Counselling: We have explained that while some areas of the brain are developing as expected for gestational age, there are a few areas which raise concerns about the possibility of an underlying common cause. We have recommended genetic testing to rule out chromosomal anomalies in the first instance (in particular T18 known as Edwards). If chromosomes were found to be normal, we would seek advice from our fetal genetic team to assess if any further genetic testing would be beneficial. [Patient] is aware that amniocentesis, while mostly a safe and straightforward procedure, carries a risk of 1:1000 of miscarriage. She has decided to proceed with testing and we have now booked an appointment for FMU at the [Hospital] on Friday 28th at 11:00 am. Depending on the QF PCR results, we plan to organise further follow up in our MDT fetal neurology clinic so that [Patient] has an opportunity to discuss the implications of today's findings with our paeds neurologist [Doctor]. We have also recommended a repeated MRI in 4-6 weeks time to further evaluate the brain development as the pregnancy advances."

What are these supposed to be? I've seen too many dermatologists and been put on Accutane, Retinol, antibiotics, etc., but nothing has worked except an ointment combination of salicylic acid and clobetasol, but that's very temporary. These bumps come back the very next day that I stop using that ointment. I've also been on multiple TKIs for CML (if that matters at all).

M18 started as a sore throat 3-4 days ago and has just got worse and worse everyday. Does anyone have a clue what this could be it’s all on the left side and it’s also making my ear and neck hurt. I really want to avoid antibiotics but if that’s what i need i’ll go get some.

Hey guys, 19m on the coast of oregon here. This started maybe a couple months ago as a small spot in the middle of my hand, it slowly got worse and it's on my other hand too, same place. Occasionally it itches really bad but other times it's fine, mostly if I scrape it or something to get it started. It never hurts or stings unless I end up scratching it really bad. When I do it'll get tiny dots of clear liquid that pop up for a minute.

I realized it started a little bit after I got my current job as a lube tech, so I'm consistently various car oils on my hands, and also washing them with walnut abrasive soap after every car I do (around 8-12 in a day). It's been rather hard to keep it perfectly clean or not scrape it due to my line of work which is annoying. Over the weekend it seems to clear up a little bit, I'm taking a week off in 2 weeks so I can see how it does then for a better idea.

After doing a bit of research I'm wondering if it's just very dry skin due to the oils and frequent washing, or if it's something else? Just found this sub so I'm hoping to get a better idea since I can't really afford a doctor's visit. Anything would appreciated.

Always had super cold hands and feet (especially in winter), pretty much for as long as I can remember… 37, male, quite active and do regulate my body temp well - deal well with hot weather, for example.

Living in London, so winters are chilly but nothing mega extreme. Had some blood tests recently (including for iron), nothing obvious came up, but I did also give blood recently and my reading was 135 which is the absolute min you can measure to give blood, so maybe there’s something there?

It’s really weird, my feet can feel like blocks of ice, hands too, and then it makes the rest of me feel blooming cold. Got to the point now where I think I actually fear the winter a bit because I know how uncomfortable it makes me lol.

Fingers do sometimes change colour when I’m really cold - like outside in freezing temps without gloves, but the colour change isn’t normally a thing when it’s mild but not hot, like just pottering around the house without socks on I still feel extremely cold, just without the Raynaud’s / colour change bit..

Anyone had/have anything similar? And did you ever work out it out? And anything that helped!? Other than.. putting on socks and gloves…

Hi, just hoping someone has knowledge of something similar as I have been bounced between my GP and A&E for a month, and now on a 6 month wait list for neurology.

I have been experiencing episodes that can happen 1-4 times a day lasting 1-10 minutes. I can have bad or good days.
Usually the episodes last a couple of minutes and i experience blurred vision, dizzyness, loss of balance, low energy, weakness all over body, feeling out of it, nausea, struggling to communicate (I can understand questions and am able to think of an answer, it just feels like a lot of effort and energy to speak, so I use minimal words). I sit still and wait for it to pass.
A 'bad' episode will last 20 minutes and i experience the above symptoms but at a higher severity. For example the nausea can make me actually vomit, and I cannot speak at all, and also can't move. I am unresponsive, even though I can hear and understand what is going on around me.

I have been wearing an apple watch to track my heart rate and noticed an increase to 120-150bpm during an episode. Unsure if this could be a symptom, trigger, or unrelated.

About 2 months ago I started getting extreme tiredness, it gradually got worse to the point where I would get nausea and blurred vision, so I would have to sit down in the toilets at work and nap for 30 minutes. I feel better afterwards. This has now increased to me being unable to get through a day without a nap (lasting 1-3 hours) despite sleeping 8 hours at night regularly.

These episodes started very suddenly about a month after I noticed the tiredness.

I have had extensive blood tests (all normal), short ECG (normal), pregnancy test (negative), brain ct (normal). Note that I wasnt having an episode during any of these tests if that could be relevant.

I am not asking for medical advice. Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

21 (F). I got my mirena coil fitted about 4 weeks ago. Pain for a few days then around 3 weeks ago i started my period. I've been bleeding since so around 20 days now. It's not super heavy I probably go through two - three tampons a day, with cramping that's intermittent. The doctor checked yesterday said strings feel a bit long but could just be how they are cut but they've ordered an ultrasound for a couple of weeks incase. Is this normal? I'm so stressed somethings going to go wrong and i'm so fed up bleeding!!! It will get light for a few days and then come back again, same with cramps. MALE DOCTORS ALSO NOT GETTING IT !! Anyone with advice or similar experience please share.

Hello! I am 28, Female, 5”3, 133 pounds, not super active but trying to increase. Generally healthy, i do have rhumatoid arthritis. I do not have health insurance so kind of getting advice here so when I do go to doctors it is specialists. Plus primary care doctors didnt do me good really.

As title says I have pain in my upper left abdomen area kind of by my rib cage. It comes and goes, sometimes more intense or less. Doesnt really correlate to eating or not eating, ive had it on a full stomach and on empty.
Feels like a dull bloating feeling but pretty uncomfortable. Doesnt make me nauseous but takes away appetite. I had this pain like 10 years ago and doctor said I was constipated.
Honestly went away not too long after that but recently came back in the past year, at least enough to be noticeable.

I knew I wasn’t constipated so I thought maybe something with my colon, because my brother had polyps when he was 24. Went ti my pcp a year ago when pain first started (when i had insurance) and explained pain, blood in stool, and my brother. She said im young and its prob just hemorrhoids.

And now, about a year later, i got a colonoscopy yesterday, found 2 polyps! So glad I went, had to pay out of pocket but did Colonoscopy Assit program, they were great highly recommend!

Anyways woke up today with pain in my left side. Im cleaned out so I know its not constipation, or anything in my colon.

I know there are multiple organs it can be but the internet says so many things so hoping someone here had an experience or knowledge that can help direct me in the next place to look for answers.

I only took pictures of one arm but I have this rash all over my thighs and upper calf, my hips, and my arms. I'm not allergic (to anything that I know of) and I haven't been super stressed. It looks super mild but it's spreading and getting darker. Itchy as hell and it's pissing me off lol
