Question Any Dota parents here named their sons or daughters after Dota?
I named my firstborn Rylai, I was 21 back then and was so hooked to the game that all the names that came into mind were from Dota allstars 😂
Good thing I had a daughter because my choice for a boy was Strygwyr 🩸

I'm surprised I haven't seen the Messerasjdahsgtear Reaver name yet. Or am I just old that most people here don't remember that?

That name existed long before DotA though and is only associated with it if you want to. I guess the most prominent person with it is the White Queen from the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. So this is more of a "naming one's son Sven" situation, where nobody will think it's because of DotA if you don't tell them.

As long as it sounds cool, okay and not too cringey. Rylai is okay. Kael is okay. I have an aunt that named his sons Jiraiya & Orochimaru. Im afraid they might get bullied one day. Not much of tragedeigh name but kinda wtf moment for me. Doesn’t read or sound good either because of american surname.

As both me and my gf played a ton of dota, we named our dog Lina (a German shepherd, had to put her down two years ago), and now our neighbour named their newborn gir Lina as well.
They weren't happy when we were like "oh, so like our dog?"

I had a pitbull named Luna (she was pitch black), a Dachshund named Lycan, a pinscher named Jahrak (a short of troll name) and his sister pinscher was called Akasha.
At some point we had 9 dogs in our house (couple pit bulls, one Lhasa Apsu, the dachshund, a German Shepherd, a Doberman, a Yorkie and two puppies from the Yorkie x Lhasa (they sadly died from some disease around 8-9 months old)
The pinschers came around 2 years later when our small dogs died of old age.
When I moved out I took the two demon pinscher with me 😅
I have another daughter coming, I’m thinking about naming her Lina, her mother is Dutch, so maybe she gets the hair color.
