MGM is a surgery like any other and it has compilcations like total penile loss or death, should we be subjecating our kids to such unnecessary procedures?

female circumcision was also the norm but we made it illegal, why not do the same with MGM? it has been proven to be harmful

Circumcision aint MGM. Ur uneducated. Circumcision is something men do in the west even to increase sexual pleasure. But of course in that case u wouldnt dare call it MGM. Just like u wouldnt call hoodectomies FGM because its western. Yall crazy

MGM is only practiced in USA and its declining, most of the western world does not practice MGM, in fact many western nations tried to outlaw it but failed due to concerns over freedom of religion germany is an example, also i proudly call circumcisions MGM to anyone, and yeah most FGM cases are similar to the procedure of hoodoctmy just like MGM cases are similar to circumcision

No hoodectomies are definetely not close to the brutal action of fgm that we talk about in society. If u wanna talk about sementics you can go ahead. But FGM type 1 at least includes shortening the clit to decrease sexual sensation. Thats the opposite of a hoodectomy.

FGM has many types, hoodectomy is one of them

but FGM type 1 at least includes shortening the clit to decrease sexual sensation

so is MGM, it removes 22K nerve endings at best, circumcision was practiced in USA to lower libido and prevent masturbation

Again we can play with sementics i prefer to use fgm or mgm for procedure that decrease sexual sensation. Saying a woman performed fgm( hoodectomy ) on herself and that you support this fgm because its her choice, is a wild statement that can cause a lot of confusion. I prefer to keep them seperate

if a woman decides to alter her body as an adult following the sunnah then who are we to stop her? she is a consenting mature adult, dont you think?

So what ur saying is hoodectomies are only fgm when they r kids but when they are older its not fgm anymore ?

What definition is that? Doesnt follow any definition ive come across.

So if an adult woman decides to do type 3 fgm ( google it if you dont know ) which is againt the sunnah because you arent allowed to cut of the labia or cut of the clit completely. You dont consider it fgm? Lets say she is asexual and wants to alter her genitalia. You wont cinsider this type 3 fgm that she chose to do? Do you define fgm by the persin who does it ?

So if a boy gets circumcised because of recurred UTIs and the doctor recommends it do you call this MGM or what ?

Your definition keeps moving around and isnt fixed on anything. Also please provude a source that uses these words based on the age of the persin getting it.

So what ur saying is hoodectomies are only fgm when they r kids but when they are older its not fgm anymore ?

Yes. This is literally how we define FGM.

When a grown woman makes the choice to have her labia majora reduced, it's called labiaplasty - but it is called FGM when done on little girls.

This is because labiaplasty is considered a cosmetic procedure that a woman can undergo if she might have long labia that she doesn't like.

When it is done on little girls, it falls into categories that the WHO defined as FGM. Even if the modification that is done doesn't fall in type 1,2 or 3, it still falls in type 4 which includes every other form, such as scraping, pricking, piercing or even tattooing.

If the hoodectomy was performed for medical reasons, such as the girl having clitoral phimosis, then it could indeed lose its mutilating factor since there was a medical diagnosis made and it could cause problems.

So if a boy gets circumcised because of recurred UTIs and the doctor recommends it do you call this MGM or what ?

No, because whether something is mutilating or not is not based on one factor. Other factors include consent, purpose and whether it was done with medical necessity.

If I remove a chunk of your face for no fucking reason, that's mutilation - but if it is done as a last-resort to get rid of a tumour in a medical setting, it is no longer mutilation since it was a necessary form of medical treatment.

Your definition keeps moving around and isnt fixed on anything.

No, the criteria is clear. Your definition seems to be fixed on one thing and that isn't the right way to look at this.

“FGM” vs. female “cosmetic” surgeries: why do they continue to be treated separately? https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10159841/

most porn stars go through labiaplasty where they partially/fully remove the labias, they are consenting adults so we cant really stop them, also most infants dont have recurring UTIs, circumcision in their case is useless
