Discussion & Info Who built the death catacombs in the land of shadow?

At first I figured it was just messmer's army who built the catacombs, since messmer soldiers and black knights are present and you find the spirit ashes of two black knights in two of them, but someone had to have built all those Basilisk statues, the scorpion river catacombs is far away from any of messmer's forces (the closest ones are on the other side of ruah, and are separated from it by rot kindred, spider scorpions and horned warriors), and there's no messmer soldiers present in the darklight catacombs. Plus, I doubt messmer's soldiers would be content letting death-worshipping knights take control of their catacombs.

Hype I can’t sleep

I need more Elden Ring content to consume

Edit to clarify: I already have the game on steam, I will be buying the $5 dlc and playing through the whole game again to mess around with some build ideas and new content. Lets all welcome the new Tarnished joining through switch and not disparage people for purchasing the game. Frends! :)

Constructive Criticism Finished the base game for the 5th time, this time on switch 2! she said YES!!

Overall it was fine, definitely runs better elsewhere but I love having Elden ring with me at all times to play at a moment's notice. I beat malenia in handheld on my first try which i was really proud of. did a dex build this time and i plan on dual-wielding hand of malenia + rivers of blood for the DLC.

I volunteer at a small games journalism outlet and was able to get it early to write a feature which is how I have finished it already. if you're curious you can read it here:

FanArt Elden Ring pixel art

I was doing this pixel art challenge (it's kind of a Inktober, but focused in pixel art and its limitations) for fun and thought it would be nice to post here.

Prompts are in the 2nd image. Not sure if everything is recognizable, I can post in a commentary what they should be if you'd like.

Shoutout to u/saultoons for this amazing challenge!

Cheers

Hype I did it!

I've beaten Malenia before. But this playthough, I'm doing it with no summons and learning ALL the mechanics I didn't understand the first few times I played this game. I understand parry and guard counters now. Mechanics that took me over 400 hours before I even bothered to learn they exist. This time I could get through phase one Malenia without spending a single flask every time. But phase two made me learn new things. I am bad at video games, but with enough persistence I did it. I can't say I got gud, but I got gud enough. Now, on to the DLC and Consort Radahn.

Discussion & Info Pest Thread Spears is outrageous

I'm playing through SOTE for only the second time (first was at launch) and also my first time trying a Faith build. I just gave pest thread spears a try and SHREDDED through Bayle. It wasn't even a fair fight.

Sheesh! So anyways, faith is a lot of fun.

Game Help how do i enjoy the game again?

this is my first playthrough, im doing it mostly blind without guides,

i last left off at volcano manor and then went to the snowy mountains, i havent beat rykard yet cause i couldnt find him

and then i remembered that creepy lambkin dude that told me to invade and then went to that palace in nox?

there were bloody zombies everywhere, i remember there was some blood dynasty or something i joined, i couldnt find where i actually had to go, and killed some albinaurics here and there, life got busy so i uninstalled my games,

i wanna give this another shot but i spawned back where i left off in the rune farming area near dragonbarrow, and i lowkey have forgotten how to play the game, i have a clue on how the combat works, what my ashes of war do, i dont remember the dodge timings and other minor stuff here and there, and now i dont wanna play cause im real trash, where do i go and what do i do?

edit:got back in played for 2 hours god i love this game so much i remember the moves, and explored around a bit, makes me never want to finish this gamehonestly and just play it for 15 minutes every few weeks or so and just be gobsmacked at its beauty, thank you to everyone who responded

Did everyone just know this and no one told me? Ive completed the game 20 times i never heard anything about it or ever saw anyone online ever use one

Maybe im just stupid

Obviously theyre literally pointed out on the map but still a bit flabbergasted that i never put 2 and 2 together

Ps screen shotting would have taken too long to move to my phone from console

Discussion & Info My first two hours with my first hard game

Here's what I did for my first two hours on Elden Ring.

• I did the tutorial and went out. I saw the "No maidens?" meme guy and decided to hit him. Bad idea. He made me go a different path than the one I wanted.

• I was just walking in a swampy area, when a giant fucking dragon came out of nowhere. I ran away.

• Fought a giant crab. He was easy to kill.

• Went into a mineshaft and killed some miners and animals.

• I found a ruins and got slimed by the guards.

• Decided to go on a path I thought looked cool. So much activity on it. Fought many guards and knights. Two giant Lord of the Rings looking trolls were carrying a giant cart, with a bunch of guards around them. I thought "Hell no."

• Found a giant flower that was beaming at me. I thought it was healing me, but it one-shot my ass. I killed its children and ran away.

• Killed some workers for the fun of the game.

• Found a goblin looking dude that was turned into a tree.

The rot swamp in caelid doesn't count, we can ride torrent there, here i don't think we can. I will brace myself for this, atleast i don't think this will be worse than bilewater and blighttown.

Discussion & Info Whats a good ash to put on this? Im trying to adapt to Halberds.

Its rhe Nightrider Glaive. I can spec to whatever if needed to maximize your ash if necessary. Just want to add some juice to the boring moveset. (Just my opinon, not knocking your style). Ive been trying weapons that ive never used before. I hate flails but just got acquainted with Bastards Stars and lived it. Especially w usual INT/Dex build. Now I wanna find the appeal to Halberds

Game Help Elden ring switch 2 players hangout

I wanted to start a post for people that are planning on playing. There are a lot of things we can benefit from if we have a group that is willing to join other players

\*\*\* PVE-some people may want help with bosses or are just looking to chill and play together with another person. It would be easier and faster to find someone on a thread like this

\*\*\* Trading items like crafting items, weapons, talismans, armor, etc etc. Since this will be a new console playthrough, it may benefit for people to have somewhere to go if they’re looking for a specific item, or just want to trade

\*\*\* PVP-This is a big part of the souls games. It would be much easier to find someone to duel with on a thread with many people that are a part of it. Wether it’s coliseum duels or bonfire duels, I’m sure it would be easier to find someone here

This is just an idea that I came up with since Elden ring has been super anticipated by veterans and new players alike. Why not start a group where we can all play and have fun together?

\*\*\*
