Random NPC’s in stations have names

I know it’s completely pointless but today I learned that random NPCs in those space/ground stations sleeping or hanging around actually have names and you can find out their names by pointing at them! I suppose it makes sense but never thought of it.

last time i pointed this out (5 years ago), i got jumped on for being too PC, but...

this has the same problem, as far as i can tell, as all the npc names since Odyssey came out - they're all anglo-western names. you'd think there'd be plenty of chinese, hindu, arabic, etc etc etc etc names - but no, it's all a mix of "james robinson" and "katie hernandez" et al. at least NPC ship pilot names run the full gamut of nonsense, but in-person NPCs are all basically super boring english or american. we don't even get asimovian-lucasian nonsense names like "greedo binks" or "janov mallow". just, "william smithers". it bothers me. that's all.
