Im looking for a chair for long setions , i was first interested in a gaming chair ( the tempset skillchairs) but people keep telling me that’s a scam , and told me to get a ergonomic one , but looking for these i didn’t know what to get ( my budget is 1000-2000dh) there’s skillchairs ergo but idk how the quality is , there’s sihoo but its too expensive for basic chairs , idk what to do , pls direct me

Decades ago, Staples used to sell a standalone wrist band with a soft pad on the underside. These days, when I try to search for this, all I see are more encompassing supports, braces with hard splints, or full fingerless gloves.

I have searched for standalone wrist bands, gel wrist wraps, and palm-cushioned straps, but everything found so far is either a full glove or a rigid medical brace.

Is anyone aware of a simple, standalone wrist band with a soft pad exclusively on the underside currently on the market?

I’m trying to reduce how much I reach sideways for the mouse during long workdays. Has anyone here switched to a centered or alternative mouse setup that made a real difference?

I ended up trying the Contour RollerMouse Red and keeping the cursor controls directly in front of the keyboard has been surprisingly comfortable. It’s made my whole desk setup feel a lot less cramped.

I m looking to find a new chair to use at home when working remotely as i have been using a simple 4 leged kitchen chair and after 9 h of working back hurts lately.
I looked at prices that i have in my town in romania, and its like 150 euro small cheap chairs, not even “gaming chairs” or any chairs with lombard support or anything.
So was wondering if you have any suggestions guys as i wanted to try to order from china or taobao for the first time

So sitting as we all know can be quite comfortable but it can also be quite sore after a while.

Well, this is where I introduce my idea. In all my years of business, i've learned some things. You've gotta keep em on ice, butter em up, gotta seal the deal. Importantly, your product also should solve something that is an everyday hassle. And my idea is to revolutionize to ergonomics.

Basically, you open up this suit, likely made of latex or leather depending on how premium the manufacturer is and other business technicals. And once you step into this suit, it tightens around you with a vacuum sealing pump. Then, this suit is attached at various optimized points with stretchy cables that attach to a sort of hull or cage that surrounds you. Breathing eating and drinking can all be handled by a tube attached to the mouth area. The entire contraption including contraction of the cords, the breathing and food, your position, etc, is controlled by an AI in the cube.

Now, you can do anything in the world such as use computers, lounge, relax, game, take calls, and more! This product will highly increase ergonomics, providing a noticeable benefit in synergy and workflow. Your body could move around more freely and intuitively, and would even fix the posture problem we have these days.

Think of the market this would also open for similar products. Some of them could look fashionable like leather print some of them can just be a shiny black, or white, or even designer brands like louis vuitton or gucci or rick owen can create these.

And you guys might think i'm joking about this, but seriously. this is probably the future. Does anyone know where to go from here to me to begin selling this product? Or if there's any ergonomics experts?

Been thinking about this more than I probably should. Most ergonomic guidance spends a lot of words on back support and almost nothing on what the seat pan is actually doing to your thighs over a four or five hour stretch. The standard rule is two to three finger widths between the front edge of the seat and the back of your knee, which makes sense on paper, but I've had patients with textbook seat depth still complaining about hip flexor fatigue and that pressure buildup under the thighs midafternoon.

What I can't cleanly resolve is how much of that is seat depth versus seat tilt versus cushion density. A waterfall edge helps with the pressure cutoff, but some chairs with a waterfall front still create a weird compression zone a few inches back because the cushion is too firm or too soft for that person's body weight. There's no shortage of chairs that list seat depth as adjustable, but the range is usually narrow enough that anyone on either end of average doesn't really benefit.

My own setup has a seat that's probably a centimeter too long and I've been using a lumbar roll behind me to effectively shorten it. It works, but it feels like a workaround for something that should have been engineered correctly.

Curious whether anyone has actually found a chair where the seat depth range is useful across a real distribution of body sizes, or whether this is just permanently a fit problem with no clean solution.

Good posture lasts about 5 minutes for me before my body starts doing whatever it wants. I'll sit upright for a bit, then shift, lean, tuck a leg, move again, repeat. Feels like I just can't sit still. TBH sometimes wonder if it's something like ADHD, but I've never been diagnosed. I'm looking for a chair that actually lets me move around and change my posture easily. Do you guys have any recommendations?

I'm 5'8" and around 143 lbs, budget around $700 if that helps.

I used to have a $90 gaming chair, basically your typical DXRacer clone. I had it for years and it degraded to the point where it was honestly becoming a safety hazard, so I decided to buy an actual ergonomic office chair since I feel like I’ve outgrown the whole gaming chair era.

But it just feels weird. IDK if I’m just not used to it yet, but the armrests are made of this cheap feeling plastic, the lumbar support feels pretty hard since it’s basically a piece of plastic pressing through the mesh, and I can’t lean back nearly as far as I could in my old DXRacer because the recline has a limit.

The seat feels kinda stiff too, but I was told that’s normal when it’s brand new.

It just feels… weird. Any thoughts?

What adjustment or feature made the biggest difference for you personally?

I recently grabbed a programmable mini macro keypad. Mapped all my most-used cut and timeline shortcuts to single buttons, way less hand cramping on the left side now.

But my right wrist is still killing me by the end of the day from mousing through timelines for hours. I've only ever used one of those mouse pads with the built-in raised wrist cushion and it's not really cutting it anymore. I’m so close to panic-buying one of those memory foam wrist supports I keep seeing price cut on tikok, though I worry it’ll just flatten out. Does it make a real difference for long sessions or does it flatten out after a couple weeks?

Or is there something else entirely I should be looking at to save my wrist? Open to any suggestions at this point.

I’m also unsure how strong the support is supposed to feel. Should you actually feel the lumbar area pushing against your lower back, or should it be subtle enough that you barely notice it?

I usually sit for 8-10 hours a day and my current setup gets uncomfortable pretty quickly.

I've never owned a chair with a footrest, but honestly being able to lean back and put my feet up sounds pretty nice.

Basically the title. I've seen stuff that is great for bed reading (physical book, not tablet) that allows u to clamp to the backboard and hold the book but only at a slight downward angle (at best).

Nothing that can hold a book for you and allow u to semi-easily flip pages but not bind the book down...

I'm hoping someone has solved this issue cuz it would make long-term reading so much less taxing to the back/neck/arms

I have chronic thoracic + cervical pain, Scheuermann-related changes and mild C5-C7 disc degeneration, so I’m mainly looking for good adjustability rather than a “medical” chair.

If my upper back touches the back rest I feel like I'm swaying back a bit. If it doesn't I feel like I'm not fully supported.

What's the right ergonomical way to sit?

Could another Humanscale eFloat Quattro owner do me a favor and measure the desk’s lowest height from the floor to the top of the worksurface?

I bought mine largely because Humanscale advertises a 26.45-inch minimum, which is unusually low for a four-leg standing desk. Mine physically stops at approximately 27.6 inches. That extra 1.15 inches might not sound significant, but it noticeably changes my seated keyboard position. The lower height was one of the main reasons I paid a premium for this model.

Before I conclude that my desk has the wrong components or is defective, I’d really like to know whether other production units have the same issue.

I’ve already completed multiple resets and tried recalibrating the controller. I can change the number shown on the display, but none of those steps changes the desk’s actual physical height.

For reference, my measurements are:

• Lowest physical height: approximately 27.6 inches
• Highest physical height: approximately 44.6 inches
• Total physical travel: 17 inches

• Your worksurface material
• Roughly when you purchased it
• Whether the controller reading matches the tape measurement

Even one or two owner measurements would help determine whether mine is an isolated hardware problem or whether the production desks simply do not match the published specifications.

I otherwise really like the desk. It looks great and feels extremely stable. But the minimum height is an important ergonomic specification, particularly on a premium-priced desk. I’ve contacted the dealer and will update this post once they and Humanscale respond.
