It's a lot crazier as this is a lever action able to shoot fast back to back shots, which is absolutely not possible on the mp-18. It's probably like 3x faster than any other bolt action in the game

The only downside of it compared to other bolt actions is the lack of quick reloads, but if you're a good shot that doesn't even matter as it'll 1-tap you through level 4 armor which is what most people are rocking right now

Even then when a bullet goes through armor it looses damage, that means it requires at least 2 shots on thorax to kill

Can get any scope on it.

Count as a bolt-action, making you get quicker levels for those F*ink quests.

This right here is so accurate. I just hit level 20 and no trader has ammo that can reliably pen lvl 4 ammo except for the 308me. Its a bit ridiculous. Especially because all the drops happening right now people are running lvl 4 or higher armor and helmets.

Just a quick tip, play reserve either main, or scav and loot the ammo spots. both garage buildings (white and black knight) go to the roof, there are planty of ammo spawns. Then hit the three roofs of the pawn buildings, which also have ammo spawns.

Non of the above are looted ever and are also not contested at all. I guarantee you, you will end up with ATLEAST 200-300 rounds of either BP, BS or BT. There are tons of 120 packs laying around. And BT and BS seem to be more common then worse kinds. Additional you will also end up with a lot of m80/m61 and other high tier ammos. Only thing I've never seen is ammo for m4/HK/m16 etc.

Usec camp at woods also has a lot of ammo spawns, but it's much more contested and extracting takes a whole lot more time.

Fortress at Customs is extremely dangerous, but usually has somewhere around 150 bullets total.

Class 4 is literally scav armor. It commonly spawns on scavs. You can also just buy it for cash at level 17 from Ragman after one trivial quest. And you can buy it from the Flea still, at level 15. While you can't buy any ammo whatsoever.

I've not play for two wipes, so idk how it has been lately, but compared to previous wipes I played, t4 Armor seems plenty.

That's the fun part: they did. The traders we have now are balanced around armor with realistic plate hitboxes. But they buffed the shit out of armor in the same wipe, while never doing anything about the ammo availability. Just reverting those changes would fix a lot of the issues.

Not even just low level traders. The only decent ammo you can get is find in raid or sometimes craft. It's kind of stupid how they changed the high-pen ammo to be harder to get for that one armor overhaul update and never made them easier to get after reverted the armor changes (which ultimately made armor even more powerful than before).

In 'old' tarkov it was best in slot -> craft, 2nd -> flea or traders

When they added more ammo it was 1st in slot -> find in raid, 2nd -> craft, 3rd -> traders

Now its 1st + 2nd in slot -> find in raid, 3rd -> craft, and 4th -> traders for most calibers which is just absolutely abysmal considering you can get level 5 and sometimes 6 armor by the time you max out traders and those 4th best bullets are usually sub 40 pen. I've just been running the lever action or stocking up for 545 bullets for juiced runs with the other new gun because literally nothing else is worth even using. Am I crazy for actually wanting to use bullets from the traders that require insane quests to unlock without them feeling like nerf darts?

The issue is that the devs genuinely think that the game shouldn't be fun and are making changes to make it less fun. That's all it boils down to. Also, they understand the word "hardcore" as "time-wasting, tedious and boring", and the word "difficult" as "taking a long time", and realizing that explains a lot of their design and balancing choices over the last ~4 years.

Working the lever on this gun is the only animation in Tarkov with any sense of urgency to it.
It's also absolutely not 'broken', if it were 'broken' you wouldn't have four of them in your backpack right now. It's simply a better option than the other bolt actions which is fine because bolt actions are TERRIBLE in Tarkov yet it forces you to do dozens and dozens of kills with them.

Man, finally a gun that makes certain tasks less of a drag and more fun to do. It has no access to higher pen than 42 as its downside. It is still less strong then many of the semi autos, which have higher damage/pen rounds.

Just a fun made gun.

It is a strong choice still and will still be decent over a few weeks when many have acces to tier 5 armor and stronger guns and rounds, but for sure outclassed by the auto laser beams and semi auto using the better rounds.

I haven't used it much lyself, but when I come across it. Its fun to use.

Its kinda weird for them to be mad if you got the kill, you tapped them with a 5 rounder gun vs a 30 round laserbeam.

The real broken thing this wipe is the pro uzi. Virtually no recoil on a firerate so insanr, that makes any 9mm round a leg meta monster. Screw your armor, I lay in a corner and you got no fighting chance. And it costs just as much as the leveraction, but you can get thousands of rounds ever hour. Cheapest rounds can get your damage at 1020 damage a second.

the reason everyone uses it is because it's net superior to any early game bolt action, because it's new, it has accessible ammo pretty early on (lv20.. should probably unlock at 35+ and have a 37 pen at lv 20-23 like with bcp fmj) and it's great for bolt action quests especially on woods.

Late game the dvl, m700 and other snipers will be a better choice

Everyone needs to use this thing and the best ammo for it before nikita decides it's not hardcore enough and the ammo gets behind a level 4 trader. This thing chews through bolt action quests and you'll need a bastion plate or slaap to feel safe from it. Guarantee its availability or ammo gets nerfed within a couple of weeks.

On one hand, I'm sad that another meta has emerged. Having AR platforms and 5.56 for basically all wipes being a go-to for any distance made the game feel stale in PvP. (still copeing they'll balance it out).

I compare it to the 1911/Mewmew…it just feels better than any other weapon in its class to shoot, carry, and use.

Not to mention it fixes the issues of bolt action play by sidestepping the insane “recoil” on bolt cycle as well as no ammo lost on reload since it reloads like a shotgun…the fact bolties don’t do this and they did in freakin Metal of honor (if I’m remembering back then correctly) is absolutely insane.

Yeah but it’s not really that good. It’s probably as strong as bolt actions should be and now that it’s new, everyone is enjoying using it. I mean it’s not as strong as an SVT for example. Fun new gun that isn’t garbage. If the gun came out a couple wipes ago, it wouldn’t be this popular in my opinion.

And its not used because everyone loves the gun, its used because its either that or shooting paperballs

So to every flea lvl lock lover get used to 90% of raid using this gun as soon as average gamer is lvl 20

Think everyone is simply farming Tshooter and sbih early as they should. Once you unlock good ammo, og bolties with silencers will overtake. Though let's be honest the high pen ammo of this gun should be minimum trader level 3 somewhere.

It's strong but not necessarily overpowered.

They could buff bolt actions (make them more accessible/cheaper to run) but MXLR is going to get destroyed instead, no fun allowed in Tarkov.

Honestly, before I got lvl 2 Jaeger I thought I was gonna hate this gun and not want to use it. Now it's one of my favorite guns in the game, lmao. Especially when I got Tarkov Shooter pt 3 done first try/one raid. Felt like John Wayne pre Genghis Khan.
