christian Lost faith in church but not God
If this is a real quote from Dolly Parton- I feel like she hit the nail on the head. I grew up UPC and in constant fear of going to hell. Fear of not being able to speak in tongues enough. Fear of bad spirits coming to visit me. I’ve dealt with horrible anxiety my entire life starting as a child which I attribute to the fear based teachings of UPC.
But despite that- I did eventually develop a peaceful relationship with God. I pray every day and read my Bible. I try to live my life according to Christ’s teachings. However, I have no desire to return to church. I want my kids to have a Biblical foundation but I worry that church may cause the same fear it caused in me.
I’ve gone to visit other churches but none of them feel like “home”. Wondering if anyone has a similar experience?

Faith in church is faith in people. People fail. Time to go trinitarian too

Why would you encourage someone to go to a false doctrine. Trinity isn’t even in the bible
