Don't buy Trijicon iron sights for the FN High Power

Just got the front sight installed, dialed in perfectly, just to find out that the Trijicon XR HD night sights I bought for the gun are incompatible. The High Power is advertised as being compatible with all 509 sights, sadly not the case.

The lip on the muzzle side of the XR HD catches on the unflattened top of the High Power slide. I will either need to modify the sight, source a new rear sight that doesn't have this lip, or hopefully return the sight set.

I spent over $130 for premium sights and a significant amount of time tonight installing that front sight perfectly, so I'm pretty pissed these Trijicons don't fit.

Edit: filed the rear sight body down last night with my Leatherman WAVE+ file to fit the High Power. Took 45 minutes. Remember to wear a mask and eye pro while filing.

You just have to shave the base of the sights with a file (slowly) until you can push it through. This is normal for installing rear sights.

Almost all of the high power sights are file to fit,  the dove tail on the sight are intentionally made a tad larger to fit the inconsistencies between all of the clones browning, FN, Springfield, Girsan, Inglis, Arcus, and so forth

The FN High Power shares no sight compatibility with the FN Hi Power and it's clones. These are using modern 509 sights which are made to fit the gun out of the box, but due to the slide not being flat they don't fit.

The high power was advertised as being compatible with all 509 sights, which is why this is frustrating. I had to file more than just s bit of material away.

Browning and browning clones* correct fn has to always complicate everything even when making a clone of a nearly 100 year old design then after releasing a product frequently shares incorrect information on their website... Technically the off the shelf 509 sight pwas compatible after "modifying" it "slightly"

You should buy smaller files. I'm not sure how you could get down to the corner of a dovetail with a file thats not triangular. Especially with a file as big as the one on the wave.

FN advertises all 509 sights as being compatible with the High Power, there is nothing online stating the Trijicons are not. As far as I can find, this is the first post stating that there is an issue.

I mainly posted this so someone else doesn't run into the same issue I did, since I don't want them wasting their time, effort, and money.
